Colorfly C3 Discussion Thread - Page 7

I know my CK4+ was 10 days, because I worked out the dates on first impressions, I can't remember exactly how many days my C3 took. 10? Either way both sellers are pretty reliable.

I just got the Colorfly C3 in the mail. it was registered.

BUT something is wrong: there is a tear in the coating

also, had to get my own "USB to MINI USB" cable converter.

i tried to msg. the seller (from Ebay), but from neutral and negative feedback's, he usually doesn't respond to those.. (1.3% bad, 98.7% good).

other than that, the unit works perfectly,

PROs:

the sound is amazing.. great mids, and attack. and bass!

at last, i can hear the true bass of my HifiMan RE0 (!).

Cons:

1. the screen is so small! I have over 800 songs (it isn't too much!), and you have to scroll down slowly...

and the width of the screen is so small.. if you have many songs for one artist, then you have to wait several seconds until you can see the full name of the song. takes time, or memorize it !

2. haven't found a search function.

still haven't figured out what does the button on the right ("9 points square") do.

anybody?

Ze button on the right (made of dots) opens the EQ and settings. Hold your finger down. smile.gif

And to fast scroll through your folders ....hold your finger down.

The coating is simply a temporary plastic covering from the manufacturing. Best to remove it. It's not meant to stay there unless you absolutely want it there. You'd be better off with a quality proper screen protector if you feel the need.

You can always rename the longer songs to shorter names once they are in the player so you can see them easier as they are scrolling

Scrolling down will speed up if you hold down the icon for that. Same with fastforwarding through tracks while they are playing.

The square button gets you into the settings.

No search function smile.gif

dammit H20 beat me to it :)

Congratulations eyal , glad you like it.

Only partially, the temporary film removal was a good note. cool.gif
post #96 of 2349

Yeah, i removed the film.. now it sure looks better.

still, scrolling speed is an issue:

the " >| " sign scrolls at 1x speed

the " + " sign scrolls at 2x speed

i'm trying to get to a song i'd like to hear, and it's starting with the "R" letter.. it's already over a minute !

Don't worry you'll get used to it, took me a day or two. I can wizz around now even at night laying down with no lights on. (pitch black)

Kova said he can use it in his pocket! That's an achievement right there!

Glad you like it mate. smile.gif

I find it easier to use the ]> ibuttons to scroll with by holding them down, never used the +   for that. but it works too it seems. They should both scroll at the same speed when held down -fast- (just tried it.)

Really? Anyone knows how it would pair with RE262?

If you found RE262 sounds dull or veiled, C3 actually makes it enjoyable, overall sounds cleaner, brighter. Not distorted, even turned loud.

Yeah, I thought mine was second hand too, it had finger prints on it and the plastic cover on the screen was slightly peeled off in the right top corner.

Thanks for your reply. I am very happy with the 262 atm. I just wanted to get more info about the bass part cuz I believe RE0 is even more tight bass than 262

did you put individual songs in this thing?  Nothing into folders?  If you put some stuff into alphabetical or labeled folders and do some music library management it'll make your life a heck of a lot easier if you did. Otherwise you'll be there forever. wink_face.gif

The fast scroll ( by holding the button ) goes so fast that sometimes i have trouble seeing the folders as they zing by. I can scroll through the entire 32 gb of albums in well under a minute.

Just wonderin'

I still dont understand why Colorfly did not enable catorgories or atleast set up the files alphabetically. And I dont know if its just me but the buttons sometimes lag or maybe I am not applying enough pressure. This is why I prefer tactile buttons ESP for play/pause rewind and forward.

I don't understand what you mean about non alphabetical folders.

I turn mine on, select TF then scroll down (using the forward track button >] ) and I reach my folder list starting at A,B,C,D it's just when you first go into TF I need to scroll down one or two times to reach "A" everyone else does just like mine I'm pretty sure, I can scroll though 20GB of FLAC files from A to Z in 8 seconds then the list goes back to A and repeats again.

There is a problem and I think this might be what's going on for you. When adding new folders on different dates/days those folders will not be sorted in alphabetical order for some reason. you will find them by scrolling up after enterting TF. So what do you do? Create a new folder in your root menu (root menu is for example drive ( E: ) ) called MUSIC, then drag all your folders into that new sub-folder. Doing so will rearrange everything back into alphabetical order.

In short: Create a new folder in your sd cards root menu called MUSIC, drag all your folders into it.

Does that make sense dude? If not tell me I want to get this sorted for you.

How about the sound? We can't force you to like it but how are you going there?
