Lol, it wasn't really planned, I was taking shots for my instagram channel and had a quick thought.

Here's the original. I simply quickly swapped the hisound case over and put the C3 there.

where's the next installment with 760 coming to the rescue and laying out the hisound gang on the ground. Use plenty of ketchup .

I have the TF 10's and I'm curious as to where you guys like to set the volume on the C3 when paired with the BH?  I find when I have the volume all the way up on the C3 I can barely turn up the Volume on the BH without it blowing out my eardrums (a bit of an exaggeration).  I also prefer the Gain on High as it seems to balance out the top a bit.  Currently I have my volume at 32.  Am I loosing any sonic advantage by having the volume that low on the C3?

You might want to give ClieOS a buzz and ask him. You're definitely not hurting anything by doing so, you may however be limiting the dynamic range, I really don't know the answer 100%. Be better if you could use low gain for the TF10 though, high gain is just over feeding them.

The Dynamic range is the part I was worried about.

I have the C3 at 40.  I use the BH as a volume control, starting at zero and moving it up until just before my ears bleed (joke).  I run the BH flat (all switches OFF) to keep the clean sound of the C3.  I tried various sound alterations available on the BH but settled on none.

I can never get the BH volume higher than halfway.  I listen to 60's and early 70's rock

Oh, TF 10s

No, I'm not selling my C3, using it right now actually with TF10. Even if I wanted to sell it (which I don't) the money I'd make back isn't worth the hassle or enjoyment it gives. C3 is a player that chews up mainstream DAP like Cowon, Sansa , Apple quite easily in sound quality, it is a player that has stayed around in my inventory despite owning many others. The only mainstream brand I have tried that can keep up is Sony NWZ-F806 which gives C3 a pretty good fight.

I want to state that Colorfly C3 pairs very well with the Astrotec AM-800 in-ear headphones.

It also drives them at ear-breaking volume levels: I usually listen with them at volume 25.

If you raise the volume beyond 30, you begin to hurt your ears.

I think that C3 + AM-800 may be the best portable sound in the world under $150!

I like coming back to this thread to read posts.  It's usually of happy customers praising the sound of this device, and rightly so.  Fantastic sound and best VFM, IMHO.

AM-800? never heard of :(

Astrotec Am-800 earphones are not widely known but they Kill for the price.
One thing I will tell you: I compare them with my Philips Fidelio X1 and cannot tell which one is better!

I bought them from Ebay.

Actually Philips Fidelio X1 is better but Astrotec AM-800 is awesome for the price!

By the way, Colorfly C3 + Philips Fidelio X1 is a fantastic match!

I don't have another DAP to compare but it is much better than with Fiio E10.
