Olddude, believe it or not but a good high-end will sound great both at low and high volume... Besides if i turn volume on my system more than a quarter people in the street can hear my music too :-)))

Listening too loud does not mean good because the more loud listen the more sophisticated system you need to hear clean sound and little distortions. That is mostly achieved in A class amping and is expensive. I am corny may be but i prefer 2 channel stereo to any 5.1 despite having dedicated Denon home cinema setup as well. I just appreciate class A amping and separates delivering clean current into my three way floorstanders. As one guest noted at my home the sound is simply holographic, he could not believe this was only two channel because he thought this was quadrophonic :-)

So i would not discard home setup so easily.

My big Kef's have been sent on hiatus to the garage.  I have a 700w Yamaha 7.1 that is hooked up to an Oppo BDP-103 and 7 littler Kef's.  That's what I use for home theater, and she is ok with that.  If I crank the Blurays up so the stuff in her workroom bounces around, she just has me turn it down a bit.  But music?  Nope, that's relegated to car and ear buds.  :)  Keeps the marriage happy.  Not a matter of loud vs louder, just an accommodation I have to make.  No biggie, as I'd rather stay married.

Well, because of this thread I ordered a C3, had to wait for it to arrive from Hong Kong.  I hate waiting.  So now I've ordered this cable from Hong Kong and the C&C BH from China.  Here I am, waiting again.  :)

You won't regret it Olddude, it's worth it.

Come on guys. I thought I finished with the audio purchases this winter. I got a DAC/Amp, new headphones for PC use (Beyer DT990), a Colorfly C3 and now you come with another improvement for C3? Damn...I guess I have to try the C&C BH too... :)

 

HaHaHa... i must remember WAF, gladly my wife still accepts my addiction and even goes with to a shop to select valves for my tube amp :-)

 

but yes, when i put on my IEMs at home she hates this, the only chance to listen to my C3 is when she still sleeps... otherwise she complains about me not paying attention to her... funny, she tolerates and loves listen to my rig sometimes but she does not like C3+BH, quite opposite of Olddude experience :-)))))))

if my opinion counts the answer is YES, YOU MUST hear this little gizmo, it blew my socks off 

I will order my C&C BH +silver plated cable soon.

 

I hope this combo will sound  not far from the 1st tier/top end DAP (such as  iBasso DX 100 or iRiver AK100) that costs many times than this combo.

 

I simply don't believe that good audiophile DAP must be very expensive and only owned by a small group of people.

 

I hope for those who have the C3 (with C&C BH) and DX100 (or AK100), can make the SQ comparion between them, and then share the listening experinece.

I just ordered my cable last night and its supposed to be in NYC on Friday the 22nd. Fantastic! What an improvement this C&C makes...the cable will make it even better!

i am also curious to hear this since spending hundreds $ on portable one must hear very audible advantages over C3+BH. i read about Ak100 but frankly speaking i found a few impressions where  people were not that happy because high price tag did not meet their expectation. one chap who had Ak100 later bought Terra player and was amazed by the sound quality of the latter. i also want to hear impressions about RW modded version of AK100 (RWAK100). actually interesting times we are living in, just a few years ago Cowon seemed to be the only audiophile choice but not anymore today.

 

Icefalkon, good fishing, envy you, here we have only mountains and skiing in winter, no fishing and bloody cold :-)

Remember: water below, ice in middle, YOU on top!  Very important.  

 

I think the only ice will be in a glass...
