Colorfly says the C3 can handle
"FLAC 16 Bit up to 192 kHz, WAV 24 Bit up to 192 kHz, APE, MP3-320, Ogg Vorbis"
I run mostly 16 bit WAV on mine. It will not handle WMA.
Thank Oldduke for the reply. They sad Colorfly can play WMA files. I use "Properties" to check my FLAC files but I did not see the information about the bit rate (could you tell me how to check for this information?). My WMA files were ripped from CDs,and the bit rate is 128kbps. I upgraded the firmware (to 126.96.36.199), but I could not play my FLAC and WMA files. Any help, please!
"They sad Colorfly can play WMA files." Who is this "they" you refer to? My info came directly from the C3 website, and I merely cut and pasted it into my post.
I am unclear about what you are doing (sounds like you are using a Windows box/apps, and I use Macs).
Firstly, stop ripping to WMA. If you are ripping to WAV and calling it WMA, then we need to be clear about that.
Try ripping to MP3 and see if that works. If it doesn't, I would assume that something else is going on. Are you putting your files on the HD of the C3 or onto a memory card? What are you using to rip? Do the files play anywhere else?
Do you mind sharing that link?? I want to give them a try...
The DAC (PCM1770) inside C3 only supports up to 24bit 50kHz. So it is impossible on a hardware level for it to play anything beyond your typical 48kHz files. If it does play, it must have been downsampled internally first before reaching the DAC.
