Currently in love with my IPC so weighing the options!

Received a pair of Sony EX800ST today and they sound very good with. The ColorFly C3. Their Bass is just so detail with full of layers. I'm just stoke with the C3. I do not regret having select it over the upcoming X3 & DX50.

I'm cleaning out my DAPs making way for DX50 and basically a fresh start, I will however be keeping C3 around still remaining one of the best purchases I made almost a year later. I just wish Colorfly themselves would care a little more about Western buyers and possibly support us with firmware updates. C3 is close to a great all round player and very much accomplishes that task in sound quality, battery life and build quality, but the UI ( eg. backwards scrolling titles) do shadow my experience somewhat.

I say this because UI very much effects our listening experience, navigation, ease of use is important for a smooth audio session, I can live with C3's smaller screen, that pop between tracks never bothered me, sorting/transferring has become second nature, but when you're left with only two lines of text and folder titles start scroll backwards it pushes my patience, I may miss or overlook an album I'd enjoy listening too or need to double back finding an album I'm looking for.

That's just my opinion after one year with C3 which is still going very strong btw, it may freeze up once and a while though that's pretty far between in my case. I've been using my C3 with ASG-2 atm, sounds very nice, Colorfly got the sound / value for money right, however they sadly left some ends untied.

+1 H20! All I can say is, it's a good thing that the C3 sounds so good!

H20, do you keep ASG2? If not let me know, i am interested in them.

So did you order DX50 finally mate? I agree, c3 is damn good and cheap to bother about selling, i will lose more money wasting my time on resell than it actually costs.

No, I'm not keeping ASG-2 or buying so you can speak to audionewbi if he's interested in selling, I'm still considering a time frame to purchase DX50, might be sooner than later depending on a few factors.

Better let us know how the DX50 sounds H20 dt880smile.png

Got some horrible news, my summer contract was extended... now I'm gonna have to buy a C3 (horrible for the wallet/bank account that is) or an X3 or copy H20 and get a DX50...

Yes, I'm selling the Hisound players, I needed to double confirm on selling the Rocco BA as it really does sound nice, was a hard choice in letting it go. The Studio V however is not suitable with hiss on low impedance IEM's it's really hit and miss, fullsize headphones it works ok.

Can't really go wrong for the asking price of C3, I have watched many people hesitate on buying due to what they read in this thread, though most forget about the problems once they hear the sound quality. It really does sound nice, especially instrument separation, soundstage, and timbre.

I too, can vouch for this statement! The sound quality definitely compensates for the UI. smily_headphones1.gif

Agree. For the asking price, C3 is quite impressive and even better if you use it with an amp.

H20, right, of you would have sold C3 i would put anathema on you :-)

C3 for the asking price is still unbeatable in price performance ratio.

UI is something I can't say would bother me. My Zip has a mind of its own atm, so I adjusted quickly with button changes etc. Just not sure, because it'll be the only other player I own. I think the IPC, Zip and one other will be the end.

I don´t like very much this players menus and the way it shows folders and musics. If the name of the folder is big it shows only the begginig and we need to way for the marquee to come... Very bad. Rockbox whould be great

Apart from this I need an amp to this beauty. I am considering the SMSL, C&C BH and Fiio e11.

Anyone tried them all?

I will pair them with sennheiser px200, hd 598 and probably a new pair of IEMs.

I can only speak to the BH2 which seems to be the going favorite. It pairs nicely with the C3 keeping the C3 signature, but adding authority, slam, and a richness. It drives my TF10s, HD595s, and my CIEMs plus even my harder to drive LCD2s very well. However, the BH2 is tiny, has 80 hours battery life, and matches the C3 perfectly in size keeping the combo very compact and easily portable.
