H2O, you betrayed small little cute H200 for W4? Presumed Guilty! :p

serioulsy after 1+2 there is no way back. i love my H200 and my older make RDB+V1 but after plugging in 1+2 i feel like total recall and reborn. there is no other IEM i heard that would sound like a floorstanding full range loudspeaker.

speaking of C3 i stopped caring for functions, this is Spartan player which does great playback but does not care for the rest. gladly C3 has good battery life so leaving it on does not bother me and i carry RWAK along with it so swapping between while one is on charge.

The bolded text sums up the C3. As long as you know that before buying it, all is fine!

Twinster, yes and no, it all depends what setup i am using. C3 BH combo with V1 or H200 gives me relaxed yet great sounding rig especially on small acoustic material. Rwak T1 combo with 1+2 is more demanding, aggressive and calling all attention, it immerses you so deep into music that you cannot stop listening, but on long listen can be sometimes too much. Each rig has its own purpose and both are highly musical yet different sounding. For what is worth i always pick the best synergy and do not worry about the rest :)

Waynes, right you are, i never expected C3 to do this or that except music playing, so i never felt disappointed :)))

it was probably you who turned it off. Snuck through my window looking for FLAC files.

I think the only thing I'll find are low quality MP3s.

Yup, that's one I'm saying.

I still think H-200 is better value for money, you're paying a hefty premium for the sound of Westone 4. If I only had a limited budget I would be buying H-200 instantly and saving myself $250, for take away Chinese food and Pizza. :D

I'm upgrading my TF 10s with a Chris_Himself cable.  I think at that point my setup will be complete.  I don't want to chase the chimera of "perfect"sound, flitting from one product to the next. So a re-cable and then hopefully I've reached stasis.

No one ever reaches "stasis".

H2O, i am happy disagreeing here but H200 is helluva of IEM no doubt, and for the price they are a steal.
btw, i remember you liked v1 a lot, funny is that i still like v1 and keep them for c3 unless a prudent buyer wants them. For what is worth v1 and H200 are two different beasts so it is difficult to tell which one for me, love them both for each own purpose.

From here:

https://getsatisfaction.com/amp3/topics/colorfly_c3_audio_support
The Colorfly C3 unfortunately will not support the iTunes audio format so any files which have been stored or downloaded as AAC/M4A files would have to be re-encoded.

Fortunately I don't have many m4a files, but I have some. I suppose my only recourse is to convert from m4a to mp3 (or flac/wav) using foobar2000, and hope the quality isn't degraded too much. If anyone knows of a different method, please let me know. Thanks.

What are you disagreeing with?

I think the C3 auto shuts down after one hour of inactivity

Whats the usual listening level of volume you guys use with your C3?

I try to keep mine at 21 to look after my hearing, still sounds full and bright.

Just using the C3 (no amp), I kept the volume at about 24/28 (28 would be top-end, for material that was of lesser volume).  Using TF 10s.

Depending on the headphones/IEM and the recording I used anything up to 30, but felt it sounded best at 25 or below.
