Well, that's odd. They should work. The 2308kbps bit rate shouldn't matter coz I have albums with 3000+ and they play fine. Maybe you should try converting them with another software as they have been issues mentioned with files converted with particular programs. You can also try update the C3's software if you haven't already and check if they work then. Finally, you can always convert them to 16-bit flac files if you still have issues.

Lol I use gold wave... Any free software to recommend? Haha they were originally 24bit 96khz flac files... And I converted them to 24bit 48khz 2308kb/s file... My software is 1.00.00.06 is that the latest? I bought the c3 a few days ago only lol..

Well, as I said before nowadays I keep it really simple and just convert files straight with the aimp3 player I use. Maybe you can upload one of the files that won't play somewhere, so I can download it and check if it works on my c3 to determine whether it's an issue with your c3's software or the files.

yeah, it doesn't play but honestly there is something wrong with this recording as there is crackling and distortion noise in the background through the entire song. If you rip a mp3 from the youtube video it will sound better than this. I don't know if this happened because of some issue during the conversion to wav or the original files are messed up but you definitely don't want this on your c3 even if the c3 played those files it would be just a waste of space.

Foobar 2000 besides being a great player also has a good converter built into it.

Hello,

I'm the owner of a Sensa Fuze+ and Grado SR-80i which I only use at home listening to Flac. The sound is Ok (a bit muffled for my ears), but I could expect more from a DAP (if I take my 15 year old Nad Amp which delivers more power and clarity into comparison).

I listen to different kind of music:
 - World music (Dead Can Dance...)
 - Pop, New Wave and some Mike Oldfield, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd...
 - Electronic music (Syntax) and electro-industrial (VNV Nation...)
 - A few other bands you've probably never heard of (Cascadeur, Poni hoax...)

I'm not a big fan of loud bass / boom boom sound, but I surely appreciate the clapping sound of tom drums and percussions.
Midrange (vocals) are be a big plus for my ears.

I've read some very good reviews of the Colorfly C3 (neutral sound, nice sound stage...), with even better SQ paired with C&C BH amp (or SMSL SAP-4s for a cheaper solution), some say on par with Hisound Rocoo / Studio DAP.
This DAP seems to meet my needs (does it pair well with Grados?), but I'm wondering if the Colorfly C4K could be a better upgrade to a C3+amp (I don't have the opportunity to compare those DAPs where I live).

In this review (in French, but the graphics talk for themselves), the CK4 is way ahead of other DAPs, which seems the opposite of what I read elsewhere on Head-Fi).

To finish, I could live with a laptop+DAC+Amp (JDS Labs O2 has a good reputation), moving from one room to another. Would this solution give me better sound to my ears?

Thanks in advance for your help.
