headphile c-pads = a wooden adapter that fits beyerdynamic dt770 pads on the grado SR series cans.
they are super comfy, albeit a bit expensive.
i found a used pair and won't listen to my grado's without them.

$245
. Only way I'd do that is if I had Magnum's.. Well, I guess I could get some Magnums. But jeez $245?? Also, wouldn't that mean I would have to buy my wood cups from Headphile?
I love the look of the wooden Grados, with the exception of the, "yokes," sticking out of the headband.
Beautiful, cups from Headphonelounge?

Yes, this is Jinteddy's build that was on the photo page of the manta headbands. I since recabled and added the gimbals :)
Nice!
This is true. But they still do not sound anywhere near neutral though.
Love the Grado's utilitarian, retro, cool design. It's the everyman phone. Neutrality! Who needs it when you're listening to a headphone that's delivering musical thrills and chills in spades? I have ample time to be bored.
Hate the look, love the feel and sound. Well, maybe just the sound ... ![]()
i like the sound of them and how they look on my neck, but they stick out like to wierd contraptions on my head when i wear them....
(i want that golden SR325i so bad...!)

The custom Grados, with the Magnum v.4 drivers are about the best one can get for the amount of money paid. Custom wooden cups provide an excellent upgrade to the visual appearance as well as provide an improvement in sound quality. Plus, one can buy a nice leather headband that is better than the original leather headbands from Grado that they supply on their higher end 'phones. If comfort is an issue, there are many pad choices to include the Sennheiser pads, with the quarter mod performed. The yellow pads can be dyed any color desired, or you can find them on eBay already died and modified.
Enjoy!
Will they actually sell you the headband alone?
My memory sucks and I could be wrong but I remember years ago a few people wanted to do that but couldn't purchase the headband. Grado wanted the better headband only on their top tier headphones.
The Alessandro line up is a bit more neutral. My MS1s were the best headphones I ever owned and I might order another pair in the near future.
Stunningly beautiful.
Love the look and the sound but hate the feel. My MS1s sounded amazing and the retro look was great but they were so flimsy. I really wish the construction but better...
