Possible? iphone 5, amp and wireless headphones

Hey guys,

 

New here and new to headphones and looking for some advice/information.

 

I have an iphone 5 and just got a pair of Sennheiser mm 550-x wireless headphones. I find they are too low in volume, which I have read is not uncommon for these headphones.

 

The question I have is if it is possible to add a portable amp to be used on the wireless headphones? As all the amps i have seen seem to need a wire from the headphones to the amp.

 

If I can do this, what kind of things would I need to do this? Any recommendations?

If they are wireless, then the signal is being sent to the headphone digitally (hopefully) and there is a DAC and amp built into the headphone. An external analog amp isn't going to help you as there is no way to get it into the signal path (well, short of tearing your headphones apart and making them wired somehow).
