Heya,

Beats are bottom of the food chain. Nothing close to "top of the line." They're plastic air pumps with an endorsement. Saying beats are anything like "top of the line" is like saying a Ford Taurus or a Toyota Golf is "top of the line."

If you want to start getting into what high quality audio is about, we need to talk criteria, and dollar signs. $300 is a drop in the bucket for good audio. Add two more zeros if you want to talk about "top of the line."

That said, it's clear you like Rock. However, consider this:

Maximum budget (for headphones and any included source equipment such as DAC/AMPs)?

Willing to buy used?

Willing to buy an amplifier (home or portable)?

Are these for home use only?

Are these for portable use only?
Are these for both home & portable use?

Do you like your rock music to be neutral? Or bassy? Are you sensitive to bright (high) treble?

Do you have a preference to open air? Closed back? Do you need privacy/isolation? Or is this for home private use?

Do you have a preference to on-ear (sits on the ears) or over-ear (sits around the ears)?

What is your music source?

What quality is your music?

Very best,

What are you going to be plugging the headphones into?
