I was also waiting for the HD25 to arrive in May. I hope that Craig doesn't pack it in after this first run of HD300s. If he does, then I suspect that he may not feel any incentive to produce the HD25.

It's a bit of a dilemma. I will surely buy an HD25. But, perhaps I will buy an HD300 now, so that Craig has some incentive to carry on. Then, once he begins to produce the HD25, I'll sell the HD300.

Or... I wonder if an Audio Valve Impedanzer would work alright with an HD300... ?

Anybody else order the hd 300 today?

I'm probably going to order one tomorrow. Question. What about shipping. I'm not seeing a shipping price. I see a $24.00 charge for Fed. Ex. with the downloaded order form, but not simply using the WWW order forms. Do I just add that to the cost of the amp. and upgrades, plus $24.00 for Fed Ex. on PayPal?

Order the amp and the upgrades you want. Then when you click to checkout, the $24 flat shipping rate is automatically added for you.

Alright...I finally gave in and put my order in today with both upgrades. I can't wait!

I figure if I really like the sound of it I can use it for a Pre-amp too.

I got both upgrades too. The line stage cap upgrade for $50 was an especially good deal. The tape out /loop out is another feature I like. I can add a second amp and play both with one source.

Thanks to everyone here at head-fi (especially sacd lover) for bringing the HD300 to our attention.
Ordered mine today with the tube upgrade.

phoneman, the hd 300 fed by a dAck should be a very smooth and listenable combo. What headphonea are you going to use?

I was going to use the Sennheiser HD600 with the HD300.
Have you had a chance to compare the HD650 with the HD600?
If I am using the HD-300 as a headamp is there any reason to get any of the upgrades offered? I have HD-650's. Thanks.

Ordered mine...

A couple of hours ago, I ordered one with all the options as a birthday present for...me.

I've got a pair of 580's and 650's just waiting for a smooth tube sound. We'll see how it goes.

Now I hope I can forget about it untill it shows up--otherwise I'll drive myself crazy waiting.

Well the tube upgrade can't hurt but the line out won't do you any good, I just wanted to order it to keep my options open later, so just incase I set up a second system with monoblock tubes it will be nice to have the preamp already.

The 600 or 650 will no doubt mate very well with the hd 300. I think I read the senns are Craig's referance headphones. I like the 650 a little better myself, but the 600 with the equinox cable is really good too.
The cap upgrade is for the linestage. If you will only use the amp as a headamp I would skip that upgrade. The upgrade tube is offered because Craig thinks its nicer looking. I do too, but I might have passed if I had not found several interesting opinions on audio asylum. The consensus was this upgraded tube is much more rugged and long lasting. I went ahead and added the upgrade tube too.
