i got a reply from craig that he recommends the 50k pot to solid state sources and the 100k pot to tube sources.

any updates from craig? Whats the status?

Does the HD 300's $400 price include stock tubes? Also, is Craig looking for a certain number of pre-orders before he makes a production run?

It does include stock tubes. He hopes to be able to average 10 sales per month. But for the first few order dates he will build however many orders he receives. The next order date is set to begin April 15th. If he cant average 10 sales per month after advertising, promotion, word of mouth etc. the product will cease production.

Crapness. I won't have cash to spare for such a purchase until late this year.

Hope people here keep him busy till then!

i think hes going to raise the price next production...

Ah, the infamous introductory offer... But it still sounds like a killer deal, even at $500-$600.

I suspect that he won't raise the HD300's price above $500. That would be verging on the price range that he's contemplating for the upcoming HD25, making the HD300 nearly unsellable except to those who need a line-out or record-out.

Hi sacd lover! Thanks, but that's a diagram as opposed to a picture. I was kind of hoping to see a picture of how one actually looks, constructed....
Obviously there isn't a pic available yet.

Right, the diagram is going to have to do for now; there are no pictures of the production model as of yet. You can do a search for the moth amp and there is a picture of the prototype in one of threads in the archives.

i think the production model is in a different chassius than the prototype
