HD800 SOLD
Up for sale are my Sennheiser HD800 and Audio GD DAC19DSP
The Hd800 is in impeccable condition other than a flour-grain sized paint chip on the plastic body. Nothing more needs to be said about the Sennheiser flagship, its a beautiful headphone and it pains me to let it go. The cable is the original cable but re-terminated in a neutrik 4 pin XLR. There is an adaptor included that converts that back into the original sennhesier 1/4" plug.
The AudioGD DAC19 is a great DAC which has been touted as being worth twice its actual value and is one of those well kept audio secrets. This is perhaps why its a discontinued product, being too expensive to produce for AudioGD with 2x BurrBrown PCM1704UK DAC chips being its crowning jewel. Only the reference series DACs remain that use the PCM1704 (costing 1100 and 2000 respectively), with wolfsons and Sabre designs being put in the large hole left by the DAC-19 series. As some of you may know, the PCM1704UK is one of those last true multibit DAC chips with the recent takeover of Sigma Delta designs and discontinuation (or limited production) of PCM1704 multibit silicon. However, the prohibitively expensive Naim, Mark Levinson and Wadia DAC's still use the 1704 which in itself attests to the superiority of these chips.
With the price that is offered here, you would not be able to purchase a Halide design DAC HD even with international shipping accounted for. While the popular Halide DAC performs remarkably well and is nice, small and convenient, it is not even in the same league with the DAC19DSP given that internet stockists still sell these for 700 euros/1000 dollars.
