Does it have a bass boost? And can you use it while charging?

EQ would be bass boost like the E11, and yes it can be used while charging (According to the fiiO rep. from the E12 reveal topic)

and thanks guys, finally ordered. Sold out everywhere I usually shop so first time using amazing for headphones lol does the E11 help these much or any other sub 50 portable amp recommended? (Im thinking e11 is "the" portable amp to get under 50)

Just listened to a track (.wav on my hdd) on Joanna Newsom's neo-folk album "Have one on me" from 2010. In "'81", there's only a harp paired with the extraordinary and very lovely voice of Joanna. That's the simple configuration of this song so you will not even hear a glimpse of bass. Though, the vibrations of the strings -when Joanna strikes them- and frequencies from high to low are well resolved and I tell you, it's just ridiculous how the 167's can perform on such minimalistic setup. By searching for a YT link to share it with you, I came across the following live version of this song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aj3NcOI25ac

the quality is just ok for a YT upload

EDIT:

here's another track from her in good quality: http://rapidgator.net/file/61438089/01._Joanna_Newsom_-_Emily.flac.html

(My personal upload and a direct rip from the original CDA. Don't know if this is allowed here. If not, I'll remove the link if I'm asked to)

Please give it a try and I'm curious what you think of these songs on the 167.

My K167s are no longer for sale. I quit waiting for the K267s. Will wait for side by side comparisons/reviews to take an informed decision though. They can't be much better, since bass just can't be more detailed/tighter than this (it will have a bit more quantity) and treble can't get any better than this, so I guess the differences will be a tiny bit more bass in "Stage" mode and maybe a tiny bit better separation due to the 50mm drivers. For now I'm sold to the K167s and they're the best hesdphones I've heard so far.

I would of bit the bullet on your pair, but...euros.

What happened to AKG being insanely cheap in Austria // Germany while everywhere else its hellishly pricy... now its like reversed.

AKG should hire miow for marketing  :> *j/k*

I'm still wondering why there's such a huge difference between european vs US pricing though, I even sent a mail to AKG about it. We're talking like 145 EUR (US) vs 230 EUR in the european market. Clearly the european pricing is more closer to what it should be though but still annoys you as a european. :P Normally it would be about 175 EUR if it costs about 190 USD (cheapest street pricing vs cheapest street pricing) for typical US vs european headphone pricing (compare amazon.com vs amazon.co.uk for several headphones).

It seems to be ever since they started to stop making the cans in Austria, the prices that vary country to country have eventually deadlocked at $199 USD // $199 Euros, etc. Kind of like with video games. Germany has it worse with the K167 being 30 Euro more then average 199 euro price.

Makes up for the 1990's, when a headphone priced at 49 pounds would sell for $169 in Canada..

Do the 167's at least have a pouch to put them in? Whatever happened to "take the sound wherever you go?"
