They are indeed and isolation is second to none. SQ wise, modded (and I can tell you exactly how to do it), they have the same levels of detail of the K167's. Same luxurious highs, much better bass and better mids (what I like the most). They also make everything sound more alive, more energetic and engaging. I'm thrilled and this is just after 5 hours of use.

The K267 got delayed AGAIN, so I'm considering getting the DT770 LE or the K167. Anyone with opinions on which one is better?

Well, there is some excitement on the Yamaha Pro 500 thread, so that may be a viable, or even superior, alternative.

Yes, as we proceed and grow and evolve biggrin.gif But I was not expectig much from these to tell you the truth. Just an experiment, I was going to return them next day. ; ) But when I put them in my ears..."hey WTF!!!!". Hmmm, a bit muddy but I can fine tune them. There's where my mod began. After an hour they were sounding like anything I've heard before. Crystal clear mids and treble with visceral bass. Even better than all my "top-tier" IEMs (UM3X, SM3, SONY EX1000. etc). Hmmm. interesting...! Nice stuff wink.gif

The technology is awesome but SONY forgot some details, so I fixed them ; )

LE is better from what I've read.

Well, the Pro 500 is $400 and made of glossy plastic. I feel uncomfortable enough paying $150 for a headphone made of plastic, much less $400.

If you can get the LE's. I was under them but still not available from my store in Spain.

What are the XB800s made out of? Do they have a removable cable?

I do too biggrin.gif

But The XB800 is one of the worst basshead headphone I've heard. I'm normally forgiving as long as the bass hits hard and low that's why I bought the crossfade and other bassy headphone deemed sucky by audiophiles but the XB line did not impress me at all. Miow is actually the first I've seen (beside some kids on youtube) to like these headphone.

Yeah, unmoded they're nothing special indeed. Too muddy and the treble's "dry" and with too short decay. But I saw they had the potential and put my hands to work. These muddy things became detail-monsters ; )

I understand why 99% of the people don't like them. They have no idea of what these beasts are capable of with some modding and fine tuning. I might take some pics and write a tutorial for the ones interested. It's very simple to do.
