For me goes something along:
1. STAX 2&3 (shared). Audeze & Hifiman 4. Fostex .............. 5. Sennheiser.......... the rest (IEM companies excluded in this case as I'm not familiar with IEM market).
While there's certainly companies that for example Sony has had the famous R10 or KOSS with whatever their flagship headphone was called or JVC with the DX1000, their concistency to make such products are quite slim and they sell mostly mainstream crap.
