Monoprice USB and TOSLINK/SPDIF DACs, $10 and $20 respectively

Monoprice has DACs! No clue about performance, anyone tried them?

Here's the USB DAC: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=103&cp_id=10311&cs_id=1031105&p_id=2881&seq=1&format=2

And the TOSLINK/SPDIF: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10423&cs_id=1042302&p_id=6884&seq=1&format=2

The latter looks like a new Fiio product. I really need an inexpensive DAC for my CD Player/DVD player, anyone used these?

It's got to be an improvement over the DAC in a $20 DVD player and a 15 yr old Sony CD player

Thoughts?

I bet your 15yo Sony CD Player could actually have a decent build.

It's not terrible, not like the DVD player, but it still sort of lacks a certain something.

The Fiio D03K would be a better choice for $4 more- it has better SN ratio and a switch for optical or coax which I use to great effect switching from TV to my CD player without unplugging.

That USB card might make a good portable with Android Jelly Bean phone and an amp- E11 plus this for about $60.

Where did you find the THD or S:N for both devices?

EDIT: Found it, my bad.

I have the D03K and am quite impressed with it- quiet and seems neutral
