Best Open Back Full Size Headphones for $100/$60 Headphone Amp?

I was wondering what the best open back full size headphones are for $100. Also, The best portable headphone amplifier for $60.


I was leaning toward using:
-Sennheiser HD-518s
-Fiio E11 pair to ipod video 5.5g via LOD

Will this setup give me some really good sound?

Here is a tip for you. Far superior set of headphones in both build and sound to the 518 being sold direct from Beyerdynamic on eBay. Search the below item title:

beyerdynamic DT880 32ohm Premium Semi-Open Back *WITH BLUE RINGS*

The E11 is a fine choice for your amp.

You might want to go used. Look up HD558, HD598 and DT880 and DT990. All have different sounds. See if any of those suit you your needs.

Maybe skip the Fiio E11 and put all the cash towards headphones.

So, I am thinking about getting:

(The $172 used ones)
- I want to stick with the Fiio E11 since those are 600 ohm headphones and will need am amp.
Now that is a total of $226, what is the best player I can get now with $255 being the max I will go.

Ordered the same set through warehouse deals last week (for $10 more) and they arrived in brand-new condition as near as I can tell.

I'm also very seriously looking into the 990's and much prefer the look and straight cable of the premium. I was leaning towards the 600 ohm impedence ones but get the impression that I would need a larger (more expensive) amp to drive them. Is that correct?
