Well...guys, i'm an addict...i suppose we all are. Anyway, i picked up a pair of Phiaton MS300's today off Amazon. They'll be here in a few days. So add 'em to the list of cans! haha, happy holidays everyone.

The Yamaha a S300 speaker amp arrived today, it drives to K1000 effortlessly and sounds awsome. I'm more pleased with the K1000 than I ever have been.

Cant wait to hear that K1000! I'm interested to hear how the bass is on those things. Do they push a decent amount of air at your ears from that far away? Or is it more subtle like the k702?

Also, if anyone is interested in hearing some portables, I could bring some on-ears. I just recently scored a Fischer Audio Oldskool 33 1/3 and Audio Technica ESW-9. Both sound fantastic! I just don't want to go overboard or anything biggrin.gif

X2 the cansmancan. Overboard in not a word in our vocabulary. You may be the fisrt person to use that word on this site, I mean that..........really.

I owned a K702 for a short while but never thought to compare it to the K1000, they are in different classes. In any event if you find the K1000 lacking in bass the a-s300 has a bass control, IMO you won't need it but it may be fun to paly with.

Bring the portable gear, I'll have my Galaxy 4>Fiio E11>Senn PX-100 II with me.

To date we have 12 Head-Fiers attending, it would be great to have a few more. If you're in contact with anyone local enough to join us, invite them. Also if you have friends who are interested in audio bring them along, speaker guys are not shunned (or made fun of).

Where is Kelly has anyone tried to get up with him. I can't remember his name on here.
Merry Christmas to everybody btw

Merry Christmas.

Glad you mentioned the speaker guys Alex. Room provided I will probably bring a pair of bookshelf speakers to hook up to the tempest. I'll keep in on mute but I just feel better having that tube amp hooked into speakers.

I'm in. The only equipment I have that's portable are a pair of HD 800's and a pair of Sennheiser SE530's but I can bring those along.
Great, welcome. You wouldnt happen to have a balanced cable for those 800s would you

Sorry, Shure SE 530's. Single ended only on the HD 800's.

I'm in too. I'm willing to bring anything I have but the only points of interest that haven't already been noted might be my AKGs and maybe my modded JVCs -- I'm still impressed with them. All I have for a portable source, at the moment, is my iphone 4S. I have a cmoy (18V 4556 op) I can bring as well.

headphones:

akg k240 DF

akg k240 M

JVC HA-RX700 (open mod)

Beyerdynamic DT 770 (80 ohm)

Audeze LCD2 (v2, i think)

So far, there seems to be no mention of music. I have some great vinyl if anyone has a turntable they could easily bring. If not, I might be able to convince my wife to part with ours for the day. It's a little finicky and a bit of a pain to detach from our little cabinet though.

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon

Michael Jackson - Thriller

Zapp - IV U

Herbie Hancock - Sextant

Herbie Hancock - Magic Windows

Miles Davis - Water Babies

Steely Dan - Aja

Philip Glass - Koyaanasqatsi

Main - Hz

Frank Zappa - Orchestral Favourites

Quincy Jones - Sounds Like…

Beach Boys - Surf's Up

Dave Brubeck Trio & Gerry Mulligan - Live at the Berlin Philharmonic

...a lot more random stuff. ask if you think of something. I might have it. I'll, of course, have a range of CDs as well.
