Heir Audio Tzar 90 and Tzar 350 Universal In Ear Monitors - Page 32

How about a contest through facebook instead?

I wonder how the 350 would sound with a 300 ohms adapter and a good desktop amp. Would anyone dare oblige? :)

I have a 75ohm one, and I shall :3

I slightly doubt increasing the impedance from 350 to 425 will make a discernible difference, but go for it. :D

No need to bump it from 350 to 650 ohms - It sounds insanely good from a nice desktop rig already. Allow me to repost something I guess you missed:

700

27" iMac -> M2Tech Young DAC -> Woo WA6SE (high gain output) -> Heir Audio Tzar 350. (The Benchmark DAC and Burson D160 were just eye candy this time).

"Need" is irrelevant to my inquiry. I was just curious of how it would sound with even more impedance. Does that make sense? No, I did not miss that part of your review. :)

Ahh, I get it :)

Don't know if there are any crossovers involved in the Tzar 350, messing with the impedance will screw them over royally. Somebody needs to take one for the team to see(hear) what happens!

Organizing a contest on FB isn't as simple as you seem to believe. There are a lot of rules to follow:

https://www.facebook.com/page_guidelines.php

Look at section E.

And that's not all. Far from that. A document must be written to detail all aspects of the sweepstake, including who can and cannot participate (in some countries, such sweepstakes are plain illegal; in others, they're legal, but only for adults; etc.).

These are not IEMs that are loaded with any resistors and the drivers are rated at 350ohms by Knowles. So loading with resistors may not be the best idea but i know lil science to do with it.

Dear Heir, here's a much nicer way to run the sweepstakes: http://www.rafflecopter.com/ wink.gif

That is a cool site. Might use it for my own work.

For rocking out with a huge grin on your face, the 3.Ai rules. For long term pure enjoyment with a wonderful presentation of just about anything, the 4.A(i) is what you want.

What do you listen to?

Rock/Electro/Vocals: Go for 3.Ai + 4.A

Classical/choral/acoustic/Jazz: Go for Tzar 350 + 4.A

What would you recommend for someone like me? I listen to electronic, rock, and classical, sometimes a little rap. I am so torn between the 3.ai and 4.ai right now. I can't figure it out. :P

I want more bass, but everyone says the 3.ai's highs are a little more boosted, and I don't want more boosted highs. I want smooth highs with the boosted bass of the 3.ai...

So, does the 4.ai play nice if you try to EQ a little extra bass?

I got the 4ai and a JDS Labs c241 amp which has a bass boost toggle that works very nicely and adds just enough bass for the tracks that need them. That way you can have neutral when you want and still have a little fun from time to time. I wouldn't call the 4ai light in the bass at all, it is there when its in the track...

What he said ^^

The 3.Ai is damn fun right out the gate where the 4.Ai is a smoother listen. It takes well to bass boost, be it in hardware or software smile.gif
