Heir Audio Tzar 90 and Tzar 350 Universal In Ear Monitors - Page 16

That would be cool. Not that I have any money as the car just cost 10.000kr to be serviced and the wife's new glases clocked in at 8.000kr. I'll try them from SR71-B fed from a Whipmod using TWag V3 balanced cable.

Enjoy the meet tomorrow

Ohh the many joys of living in Denmark! I'll tell Librarian to forward them to you when he's done smile.gif

Listening to The Prodigy right now on DX100 -> O2 -> Tzar 350. Bass is deep, dry and puchy, but those cymbals are BRIGHT!! Currently in the process of picking out tracks to run the Heir Universal trio through.

So I'm wondering, seeing as I own the 4.Ai would the Tzar90 or the Tzar350 compliment them better?

So far, only The Wizard has heard the Tzar 90 I believe.

The black shell w. burl isn't the worst combo I've seen...

Ah right. Well seeing as most of my files are 16/44 ALAC or 24/96 FLAC and seeing as I like detail and clarity....it sounds as though the 350 may sit nicely.

Would you say there are any genre's that the 350 suit and sound better with over and above the 4.Ai ?

The 350 beats the 4.Ai when it comes to defining the soundspace. Well recorded female vocals really shine on the 350 as well. I'll still hold the 4.Ai to be the best buy if you're looking for The One Headphone as they do just about anything really well with a nice speed and clarity. The cymbals on Metallica's "Wherever I May Roam" are nice with the 4.Ai but downright painful with the 350. Put on som Allison Krauss or Tori Amos and the Tzar 350 will show the 4.Ai how it's done. The 3.Ai is a more "fun" all-rounder than the 4.Ai and especially good with rock and electro.

Since the drivers in the 350 made it more detailed and bright, I wonder if the 90 will be more neutral compared to the 3.ai?

I'm a prolific and keen user of EQ (I may have gotten it down to a science), so I won't have to worry about the 350's treble response. I've successfully EQ'd my gr07 to achieved an extremely flat response, though vocal-centric. If the 350 is superior from a technical standpoint, then I will likely have my dream IEM.  *_* weeeeee

I'd like to point out something in the Photo

If you look at the logo, you will see a small line under the logo. This line represents "Tzar Series" the line and logo are done in gold, and this represents the "Tzar 350."

The Tzar 90 will be done in metallic red

Essentially the same format as the Ai cousins, just with a line under the logo

Yeah I find that the 4.Ai are good all rounders, however I do listen to a lot of female vocals including Alison Krauss, Tori Amos, Maria Mena, Ane Brun, Laiura Marling and Sophie Zelmani...I think on that basis the 350 would be a good to go IEM with that type of music. Have you tried more Accoustic type stuff with 350? How does that sound?

Also just out of curiosity how would you say they say sound against the 8.A, may be a silly question, but would you say they were as detailed as the 8.A or are they a different type of animal?

I am guessing for people like me coming from the Ety ER-4S's, the 350's might be the perfect upgrade path. I end up missing the "Ety highs" even on the 4.Ai's.  And especially when listening with my Realiser as a source, extreme accuracy and detail is essential to accurately emulate the speaker system I am listening to.

Etys don't have the 3.7kHz dip that is present in the 4.ai. That may be responsible for what you perceive to be missing.
