Samsung Galaxy SIII I9300 - FLAC 24/96 Playback

Hi guys,

I have a SGSIII (international version) with Siyah kernel (with DAC direct mode on) and I'm using NeutronMP NEON version to play music, the point is in audio hardware details (in neutronmp) it shows that the maximum sample output is 44.1khz and maximum bit depth is 16, I read that Wolfson dac included on this phone is 24/96, do you know if there's a limitation in android or hardware?, I also tried USB output with HRT Music Streamer II and it also play at 16/44.1, but I'm aware that this DAC play at 24/96 with ASIO driver installed in windows, otherwise it always play at maximum 16/44.1 .

I'm asking this because with that hardware output it's quite useless play 24/96 FLAC files, because it downsample to 16/44.1

Here is the screenshot:

700

Thanks!

Android downsamples everything to 16 bits / 44.1 kHz. Also, 24/96 sampling doesn't provide any audible benefits.
