How about some comparison on the over all sound quality VC02 vs MH1C please. I have MH1C, yes the bass is too boomy for me and of course the flat cable that I hate... What would you prefer Azathoth VC02, MH1C or  Superlux 381F for any kind of Metal, specially Progressive Metal?

The mh1c isn't really boomy but deep strong with extremely nice decay, it never get in the way of the mids but it make the mid more natural sounding , highss has sparkle and air, micro detail is great as well ....this is after buring them in for 200hrs with bass heavy track.....soundstage seems similar. biggrin.gif

I listen to death metal, post-hardcore,dubstep,ambient,trance....etc. so the mh1c adapt to the genre you listen to....but the vsonic stay ture to its sound through all the genre the sound is very linear and clean.

There appears to be huge variability in the MH1C. Some find it fairly bassy, but good. The pair I received are so muddy and bass heavy that they are 100% unlistenable, stock. Once you cover the ports on the back, the bass fades slightly, but I still use the bass reducer eq.

are your vc-02's still working? the fact that a driver gave out in cold weather is a bit nerve racking, was it a one time thing? or does it automatically stop working in the cold? is there a quality control issue atm? should i buy now or hold off till production becomes more consistent? Srry for all the questions :$ Thanks :D

it only happend once and now it is working fine. i dont know if it was because the cold or something else. It also could be driver flex

awesome :) how's the build quality on them? i try to be gentle with my iem's but i usually end up destroying them :$

The build quality very good, but don't know why I find them a little fragile probably because they are very small

tongue.gif...the MH1c is one absolutely stunning IEM, its so listenable, I actually loved it more than my SE-535 when I played them out of my A/v Receiver.. Amping can do them fair justice..

With Iems like these and that too @such price affordable, top-tier sound is not very far away.. if you can get them recabled with some nice cable, they can be the best bang for buck possible ever! .. Some people are too much against the hype, but there's always a reason for it to begin .

^^^^^ I'm with the hype.....I knew that the mh1c was special before anyone on headfi tried them...on the descoverie thread by dsnuts I told hi they were something special after loking at there spec.....but no one listened to me frown.gif....the 1 year later ceilos did a review about them and I was correct about them biggrin.gif

Mine have well over 100 hours. They didn't change at all. I really think there is massive production variability, which is common on freebie or cheap IEMs. Some are evidently unlistenable bass canons, others are moderately balanced. When I tape the ports and use the bass reducer eq, they sound decent for $20. Without, they sound like little more than muddy, distorted bass.

The cable/mic on the MH1C is also silly, for lack of a better word.

Nope, they're more than sufficiently burned in. By well over 100 I mean I've lost track, but I left them for about 10 days sitting with loud music going through them, and I've listened to them enough. In the first 200 hrs absolutely nothing changed. I sincerely doubt that if I am a few hrs shy of 200, anything else is going to change.

This has been very well established within the MH1C thread, there is tremendous variability in the IEMS. Some sound fine, others sound muddy without modification.

Got an email from LMUE - the IEM's I sent on the 5th arrived in Singapore - the email states that the replacements will come from the US warehouse - we will see - after reading all the notes in this thread - I am anxious to listen to these! Mine were bad out of the box and I never had a chance to demo them...

One small positive - I only shipped the IEM's themselves, not the box or tips or anything... I may get a new complete package. I might have a whole bunch of brightly colored tips....
