No Sound From Left Side Of Headphones.

They're custom made headphones. How do I find out what the problem is? Is it the driver, the cable or something else? The problem exists when connected to an amp or boombox.

If they sound fine out of other sources, the culprit is most likely the jack. You should be able to replace it easily with a Neurik or equivalent jack.

If there is no sound from the left side no matter what you plug them into, the cable is the most likely culprit. Perhaps, as they are custom made, the cable wasn't soldered onto the driver properly and detached itself. You should try to open them and see if the left driver has the cable attached properly. If you notice that one end of the cable became detached, simply solder it onto the driver (carefully). If it is attached properly, the issue might still be the cable but in this case, you'd most likely need to replace the entire cable. Finally, the driver itself might be faulty; however, it seems more likely that the cable is to blame.

I think I'll need to look into sending these to a reputable repairman. I've never done any work on headphones...

So if anyone has any suggestions...
