Bring lots of free stuff for me :D.

But actually, if you have it, a "mid tier" model around $200 would be nice :D

Ue is donating a pair of UE900s for the silent auction so bring cash.

As of right now, I am updating my gear list that will be at the meet:

Violectric V90

Maverick D1 + with WE and GE tubes

Cambridge DacMagic Azur 100

Audioengine D1

HE-400

iMac 21" (music server about 750GB)

As well as any other purchases I may make between now and then :)

Yep. And since these are on a really strict MAP policy, you won't find them discounted anywhere but at the auction.

We'll also be offering a 20% discount on all of our customs as well as free impressions for anyone that buys during the meet. Actually, we'll be giving away impression coupons for the best audiologist in Manhattan. Almost the same thing... For anyone who can't make it to the meet but wants a great local audiologist, look no further than Dr. Julie Glick with Musicians Hearing Solutions.

Just a small notice to everyone. I am trying to sell a very good condition Sony PCM-M10 with Windscreen and Case and all original boxes and accessories. If anyone is interested in purchasing it I could bring it to the meet up and would be willing to sell it at $150 or if you wanna give me my asking price I'll donate 15% of the money from the sale to the funds towards the next meet up.

See you soon.

That's awesome. I hope you are bringing the UE VRM's and RM's. I'd love to hear them side by side to hear the difference.

So, interesting turn of events. I contacted Boze about this, however, I'm still not sure of all the details.

I work at a shop called AC Gears and thanks to the suggestion of another forum member I asked the buyer for the store if he wanted to come as a rep for AC Gears to learn what the headphone (or more specifically in this case the Head-Fi community) is looking for. So he'll be coming as well.

He said he's going to try and bring a V-Moda VAMP Verza to demo since AC Gears is one of the distributors of it, and if the owner is OK with it, some to sell as well. I'm not sure of that though.

Hi Kenman345 — I don't think I'll be bringing the VRM's but I can see that we've done a bad job of explaining these so please allow me to talk about them briefly. This is a very niche-specific product for stage use only. The VRM's only reproduce frequencies from 105hZ to 9kHz. Nothing else. No sub bass. No overtones. No harmonics. Just the spectrum of the human voice. Since we've sold in-ears to every pop star imaginable in every country for over 15 years, we've learned a thing or 2 about how our in-ears are used onstage. And inevitably, across the board, a vocalist will eventually dial in a mix that is very similar to this sound signature. But here's the rub. Even if a vocalist only wants to hear themselves and has no other instrumentation dialed into their mix, their vocal mic is full spectrum so it picks up ambient stage noise and puts it back into their mix. By eliminating the speakers that reproduce those frequencies, we've taken out all the bread and have only left the meat so to speak. The frequencies that it reproduces are incredibly clear and accurate for singers on stage but it's just not a piece for the audiophile market. Great for singers on stage. Not so great for us to listen to music with.

Does that make sense?

This explains a lot. I was hoping for something like the UE RM's with a bit more midrange and treble to it. What you've explained sounds interesting. I still think it would be interesting to hear such a thing. I understand what you are saying about it but I still love the experience of hearing things in a new way. I hope you have great success with that product and I look forward to seeing you again this year.

Now for some other stuff:

1. I am going to do my best to arrange a set of three microSD/SD Cards with identical music on them for the purposes of testing out the iBasso DX100, HiFiMan HM-901 and Altmann Tera Player with the same source files. I would appreciate anyone who wishes to do a comparison of these devices to let me know what you wanna see on the cards and I'll do my best to get a nice variety in them. I'll also prepare a forth microSD Card in case we have an AK100 or RWAK100 turn up at the meet up.

2. I have a Sony PCM-M10 for sale. Please let me know if you might be interested as I will be bringing it with me to use and hopefully sell at the meet up if it's not already sold by then.

3. Everyone should remember to have some cash in their pockets as you may wish to spend it at the meet up on the auction items or on a new set of Headphones or IEM (or CIEMs), cables, amps, DACs, DAPs, or even just food from one of the many vendors (or local restaurants). Money made during the auction will be going towards the collective money to pay for the venue we will be using that day as well as for the deposit for a room for the next meet up when it gets scheduled.
