Ocharaku Flat-4 KAEDE (Maple) - Page 65

I thought that the KAEDE had too much treble when I first got it. I was even EQing it down. No more. Now I only feel that there is too much treble with a few extreme recordings. I find the sound signature to be detailed with a simply visceral impact upon my soul. Yes, I like this headphone.

I do think that the KAEDE smoothed out over the first 50 to 100 hours but I cannot actually prove it (or even be  certain).

That could be the case. I did run them in for say 50 hours though. Didn't notice any large improvements in that time though. Maybe I would have needed to run them in for a few hundred hours. But the SE5 was calling me ;).

The KAEDE has found a good driving partner.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I had a similar experience. Mine now are only too bright when it's the recording's fault. I enjoy them with that amp as well. Visceral impact is an accurate description.

Do they burn in or do we burn in? I am still not sure but I think that it is them.  :-)

Quickstep and KAEDE is lovely. The revelation for me is the HM601S as source. The Philips TDA1543 DAC chip is a relative of the 1545 chip in my home DAC. I like the sound of these old NOS chips with the KAEDE very much.

I am not sure either, but I think it's a bit of both, tilted more towards them.

Agreed on the NOS chips, I love the sound of them sourced with the Tera.

Ah, the Tera-Player. The price has somehow doubled from a 840 Euros (eek.gif) to 1680 Euros (eek.gifeek.gif). It does look quite interesting. On the other hand, the HM601S cost me $180 and is running Rockbox quite fluently on its small colour screen. It is large and unapologetically plastic...

I have thought about selling mine (I bought at the old price) and investing in an AK but haven't done so yet.

Reviving this thread back to the top.

My friend recently sent me a pair of TDK Fit2 eartips, and I have to say, they're the only silicone tips that have been able to support the Kaedes in my ear. The only other tip that made the fit more "stable" were complys. Comfort wise: A+ for me :).

Oh, and anyone know what a good compliment to the Kaede would be?

Joined the club 1.5 months ago but writing just now. Just a head up on how exceptional these iems are.

To say the truth I was not sure they were even going to be an upgrade over the already impressive EX1000. Thought it was going to be the usual uber expensive FOTM iem. In fact they are a step above in every aspect technically. A deeper and taller soundstage, would say a bit less wide but way more enveloping. Way more detailed and with remarkably better instrument seperation.

Though they are different signatures with the Kaedes having more mid bass (edited: visceral) bass contributing to its funnier signature in comparison to the neutral romantic Sonys. The mids are more detailed and clear but sitting a tad lower quantity wise. Highs also have better detail although I got a great fit with the EX1000 and wasn't prone to the piercing 6K band with bad quality materials. PRAT also is better with the Kaedes. You really don't want to put them off the ears. Both need excellent materials to shine but although I've red a lot of people saying they are very unforgiving I would not consider them as such, after around 70-80 hours I've put on them. In fact, felt the EX1000 where worse sounding with bad materials.

I seriously think this is the end game for iems for me. Would be curious only in a comparison to the Traluscent 1P2.

Hello

greetings to all,

I amplaning to attend Canjam meet in Denver on Oct 11-13. this year, for those interested in auditioning Kaede, please come and join us at Musica's booth.

We will also exhibit Venture Craft's new SoundDroid and TT tube amplifier among other things. I will have a list posted on Musica's HOTNEWS page shortly.

P.S. to clarify any doubts about the announcement on  Kaede availability, the last 10 units  which are part of the last batch I believe, all of them were pre-sold ahead of time through Ocharaku website,  In other words, last batch is not available to public for grab.

Kuro is the only model available from Ocharaku.

See you in Denver.

D.T
