Just received them and have had a quick 30 mins listen. 

 

I like them very much on initial listening. The Flat 4 Kaede are the most BA sounding, dynamic driver IEM I have heard.....................normal_smile%20.gif

haha, it is sort of hard to know whether that is a good thing or bad considering why people buy dynamic IEM for....

Or just correct sounding. Which this IEM certainly is to my ears, although there is some emphasis to the highs.

I find, for me, the Sony Hybrids are the best tips for these IEMs. I tried and compared with the Ortofon and UE900 tips.

 

With the Sony tips, and using the C4pro, the Flat 4 Maple is indeed sounding very nice!

Same i have been using Sony hybrids since the Sui to Kaede.

 

I feel that there is very little impact on the bass and it is in between tight and loose.

I have  nothing against the Sony Hybrid. Even the smaller sound bore doesn't really bother me, but my ears are very sensitive and the Sonys make my ears develop sores after a few days. Ortofon it is till the end - at least it would seem so.

I think the Sony Hybrids takes a little bit of the heat out of the highs, and adds a little solidity to the bass. Although the soundstage feels a little narrower.

I can not get a proper seal with the Ortofon, which is funny, as I use Ortofon tips in all my other Universals that they fit and seal really well?

I can't remember if this was ever shared here (or in other Ocharaku threads). This video of the Ocharaku technology came from them on a CD they were handing out at the Fujiya Portable show on Feb 9th this  year :-

Not allergic, but the ridge in the sony tips, and the material is a bit too hard for my sensitive ears. I've found only the ortofon to work day in day out. That, and its wide mouth tend to, if fit is properly attained, exert less of an impact on sound than some other tips - of course, for better or worse.
