So how are you liking the Kaede so far? You like them over your 334?
I like them equally, 334 is still better for vocals and Kaede is good for instruments. I found the Kaede has better detail over high range. I also have Kuro in hand right now. Imo these two are of the same base design but tuned differently. SQ wise the only thing Kaede can do significantly better is smoothness, otherwise the Kuro is similarly capable. Signature wise they are both on the bright side but Kuro is relatively darker on highs with better bass quantity. Personally I like the Kaede better but I would recommend the Kuro equally.
I am keeping the Ocharaku just because it is a limited item, I can get another 334 anytime in the future.
That makes sense. One reason why I opted for the Kaede is because I won't be able to do so at a later date. Although I'm sure they will have other versions down the road. That doesn't mean this version will be available still :).
@Cooper: It's good to hear they are growing on you. I noticed with usage the Suis did smooth out for me in the treble region and became noticeably more agreeable with my ears. I can easily use them for well over an hour without issue. The fact that their treble extends so high is very intriguing for me. It's like hearing new nuances in that region that generally aren't so cut and dry on other IEMs. But I liked them for the general sound as a whole. Just a very special IEM IMO. As a matter of fact since the Sui had a slight U-shape to the sound I would actually listen to them a bit louder due to this. Considering the treble nor bass became an issue at these volumes goes to show how smooth the sound is.
If I'm lucky I may have them much later today. They went into Customs in Honolulu yesterday. So maybe I'll get them today :P. Crossing fingers!
Ahh you had to spoil my party ;)... Well at least that gives Shigzeo a little more time to pull funds together ;-).
lol I also blame Gavin and Shigzeo. Gavin initially because his opinion persuaded me into the Sui. I blame Shigzeo because he feels the Sui is meh against the Kaede ;).
I'm in Montreal for four days and left the KAEDE back in Toronto. It was a reasonable practical decision - I don't need two IEMs on a short trip and the Heaven VI is the better rough and tumble choice - but I am quite missing them.
