I used to be like you. But I guess I've been disappointed by too many things to take that train of thought again. I'm mentally weak :)

KURO is 18-ohm and costs 42,000 yen, just one more month to go and that would be an interesting model.

Just saw this on Ocharaku's website. Apparently the new Flat-4 Kuro has some kind of dampening material embedded in the aluminum center cabinet. Not sure if this to be found on both SUI and KAEDE.

Wait, is the central tube composed of maple or aluminum? The press release mentioned maple didn't it? Anyway, the dampening material may have some effect on the sound sig if not present in the Kaede/SUI. Kuro means "black" I wonder if that means it will have a warmer sound with less emphasis on highs?

Or maybe the shell will be black? If it was a DAP I'd say possibly a blacker background :P.

I was thinking bout the implications of dampening the chamber

But yeah, the logical thing to assume is that this is a joint collab with Asahi Black :P

I believe center cabinet will be made out of aluminum. They might refer to black, maybe due to the fact that balancing tube is now black powder coated?

Any word or indication on if the Flat-4 Kuro will be a limited run?

If its milled from aluminum I have no reason to believe it would be limited given that the reason for the Kaede's limited status stems from its central tube being sourced from the same tree, in an effort to snuff out any anomalies cropping up from using wood.

I hope so. The whole operation feels limited haha.

I've been eyeballing them and would like them to still be available when I'm in a position to pull the trigger.

Anyone else loving the name Kuro for these?

Yeah, I'm digging the name for sure. I'm just curious as to what the differences will be (if any exist) between this and other existing F-4 models. Can't wait for more details
