silver or gold DIY cables

I'm fairly new to re-cabling headphone, and I would appreciate if the head-fiers could give me a hand.

I'm getting my d2k woodies from martin in 2-3 weeks, and I want to try re-cabling them to save $$$. So far, I only know two cable brand. Dhc occ "Nucleotide" and toxic cables. Which cables would head-fiers rec? Also, I'm planning to use 8 conductors braided and sleeving, so the cable doesn't need to be teflon wrapped.

erm the teflon is for insulation, it has nothing to do with being exposed to the elements or not

i don't recall mentioning " exposed to elements."  Teflon provides excellent protection against microphonics. Correct me if I'm wrong. Also, I heard that copper oxidation doesn't change the sound at all. With theses in mind, what kind of cable should I get? I've seen purity to range anywhere from 5n to 8n, and some head-fier told me human ears aren't good enough to notice the difference between 5n and 7n....

Toxic cables silver plated copper is really nice to work with and sounds great, I'd go with 26-24awg for headphones.
