Going to compare it to the Original and then decide which one works better for me. I sold my original, but have a friends here to compare. I really like the original alot so I am thinking I will have to be blown away to think the HD is 250 dollars better. DSD is not enough for me to keep it if it is only slightly better. We'll see.

I am thinking there should be some comparisons/reviews coming soon since its been out for a bit now ?

Wow I'm definitely interested to hear your results. I hope you're not blown away, because that means I have to upgrade too.

Got the Concero HP working today. Just like the original Concero, the HP (and presumably the HD) doesn't play well with my Linux based music server. It sounds fine with 96kHz, slightly off with 88.2kHz, no sound at all with 44.1kHz..... very strange. But I tried my new MacBook Air and it worked without a hitch.

Initial, very brief impressions - sounds great! Works well with HD800, very black background with JH13FP, drives LCD-2 well enough but kind of runs out of steam with my Thunderpants - which are the most difficult to drive of all my headphones. On full blast it would actually be fine for most music, but I could see wanting some more volume out of quiet jazz or classical recordings.

I didn't do much critical listening.... ran out of time, plus I just got the MacBook so I don't have it configured (need to install JRiver or something). But so far I like what I hear.

It only deals with high resolution files and premium computers? What an arrogant USB input! wink.gif

Sort of, it makes all kinds of weird noise with 192kHz files. So it's sort of like Dan Lavry - it likes Hi-Res, but not too high..... Ahem, sorry, DAC nerd joke there. Carry on, nothing to see here.

Great to see all the support for the Concero! Unfortunately, I am straying away from audio as I feel I am comfortable with my current setup, but just as a little experiment, I should be comparing the Concero against the NAD M51!

Here's a happy couple.  They're perfect for each other.

Cool - let us know what you think. I'm really digging it so far in a little desktop system.

Yes, it happens. Try to think of it as a "break" haha. There's more to life than headphones!

No that's actually really cool. I love seeing people around here still using old-but-good equipment. Nothing wrong with a classic system.... Sonic Frontiers transport, EAD DAC, Gilmore GS-1, Sony R10. Still as great today as it was almost a decade ago (we could go older but I can't think of a really high quality headphone amp going back much further).
