Also, I am genuinely surprised by the Concero's size... I knew it was small, but this is not what I expected.

Hockey puck o' joy.

Looking forward to your impressions, planx!

Gonna go steal the Matrix X-Sabre and the Schiit Mjolnir off my friend for an all-nighter impression in a bit.

Expect me to be posting a lot in the coming hours... (West [wet] coast here).

EDIT: Also, I will be comparing against my Calyx Coffee as the Concero shares the same DAC chip. Should be interesting, but already I feel the Concero is ahead... Sort of buzzkilled it

Good stuff. Dont forget to update the firmware first. Do you have an apple remote so you can try filters?

Okay got everything unloaded and set up. Equipment used for testing includes...

Headphones:

HE-500

LCD-3

HD800

Amp:

Schiit Mjolnir (just to keep it fair, nothing balanced)

DAC:

Concero

X-Sabre

Calyx Coffee

I will not be using my Marantz CD player as I do not have a Coax cable yet... All songs will be in FLAC ranging from 16/24 and 44.1-192hz.

Will take a day or two to finish compiling all information.

Stay tuned

EDIT: Huge shout to Girls_Generation, Peter @ DHC, Chris @ HPL, and others for all the equipment being used

6)Lastly is the Concero HP which I believe we saw a picture of earlier. It uses the same Concero chassis as the other models, and the same 32-bit Sabre chip (DSD capable) as the Concero HD, but has a built in headphone amp. The HP model is USB only, while the HD (and the original) have USB plus the coaxial SPDIF input. Pricing is also tentatively set at $799 and this should also ship around June.

So there you have it - Resonessence seems to be branching out to higher territory with the Invicta line, while keeping the "low" end covered with the original Concero and filling out the middle to some degree with the new Concero variations. They have some other ideas kicking around but for now this is all that's really set in stone. Oh and by the way - the Concero HD and HP have one more interesting aspect that I can't talk about yet... soon though.

So it's almost June, can you talk about the "one more interesting aspect" that you couldn't talk about before?   biggrin.gif

Little teaser for y'all.

It's REALLY that small...

LCD-3, HD800 (Rabid Dawg Mod vers.2 I believe), HE-500 w/ Jergpad)

Wow, at least we know the headphones won't be the bottleneck.

Sorry, can't reveal it at the moment. It's just something you'll have to wait for until the official release. It won't change the world but I think people will be pleased with it.

Any clues? rolleyes.gif

Are you allowed to say if it's on the software side or the hardware side? Is it exclusive to the HD and HP, or will it also extend to the original Concero?

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say a 5V socket for separate linear power supply/battery.
