Also look into your headphone amplifier. With my Emotiva Mini-X the sound is quite fun I can assure you, but I'm sure that is more down to the amplifier. With the Audioquest Dragonfly there was just too much fun for my liking.

Getting Shcit Gungnir , will search about it first, also wanted to tell you that my iUSB + Gemini cable will be up for sale, free DHL fast shipping too.
From one end of the spectrum to the other. Smooth, detailed, laidback to aggressive and shouty.

i did A/B again, i know its clean sounding and relaxex, but i didn't make me feel like dancing, same exact feeling of the Yulong D100 MKII, even the TH600 wasn't fun for me on such a DAC :P , i know a lot of people like that kind of sound, sadly i am not one of them xD its a good super DAC don't get me wrong man :3

my amp is the WA7 with EH tubes, does it have less treble sparkle compared with solid state amps? don't think so :P i did A/B with few solid state amps and the EH tubes make the WA7 sound like a hybrid of tube/SS ore more SS-ish was can say.

Just saying, you might be in for overload with j-pop. I thought the Gungnir was excellent until I heard the X-Sabre which is similar in sound to the Concero. Then I realized it was just too aggressive with a SS amp and unmodded HD800s.

You mention you would search about the Gungnir, but then you say things like you've A/B, but did you have the Gungnir in the A/B or are you buying blind (deaf)?

sadly i am i am located in Dubai so i buy depend on what i read, any by A/B i mean the WA7's DAC and the Concero, i gave the concero hours but didn't feel awesome or happy or like wana dance, i know the WA7 isn't as clean what so ever or near the what can the concero but for some reason i was able to enjoy it way more i don't know, maybe smooth/liadback isn't what is for J-pop excitement, we all listen to different music after all :P

if you know a good DAC that might suit me then np tell me, i don't regret buying anything, cause i always can sell it on head-fi :P

I think you might want to look for those NOS dacs using old style chips, which have a more warm and smooth flavor to them

oh a friend of mine told me to listen to the DAC for like 100-200 hours before i decide, lol didn't know that DAC burn in too, guess will give it more time

I also hear more of an SS-characteristic with Woo amps. Not especially "tubey" from the models I've demoed... and I have yet to find an EH tube I liked in *any* amp. Unfortunately since the WA7 takes 6C45 types I can't recommend an alternative since I'm not familiar with how they sound. Doesn't appear to be many options. Have you tried Sovteks?

they don't have it anymore , but i decided to let the DAC burn it for 200 hours, then give it a long time then decide :3 i mean no way the WA7 DAC got a better Treble fun and sparkle unless the Concero even on IIR sound like that to begin with :P

If you are a treble head, you might like the Lavry DA11. http://www.lavryengineering.com/products/pro-audio/da11.html

or the psaudio nuwave, that you can try easily..

turned out that its the WA7 even with EH tubes its nothing compared to the Treble sparkle from the SS amps, i was playing HeathStone and for playing i use my M-stage with LME opamp, the sparkle in the treble inside the game was always fun and awesome on SRH940

but today the M-Stage on the laptop so i burn the Concero in, the Treble of the concero  + M-Stage + 940 was nice but with WA7 (EH tubes) i was really shocked... a lot of sparkle is missing.. a lot....

and here i thought that the Concero isn't this cool :P

No worries. It takes time to find out what is really going on since everything matters in the chain. A good headphone can sound crappy if mated to an unfriendly amp. Just gotta try everything... :)
