Not buying anything, but signing for great justice!

I bet most people who signed or will be signing in this thread are "the 2%" in the headphone hobby. rolleyes.gif

Signed. But with better build quality please.

Signed. As an owner of the HE-6, I surely expect the Jades to knock one out of the park.

Just to clarify, Dr. Fang wasn't responsible for making the original Jades. It was a fellow named Mr. He who had a very, very small operation called HeAUDIO. Like, "one guy and some workers in a house" small. I believe Fang partnered with him and acted as a supplier / middleman.

The reason why the original Jade manufacturing was halted was apparently Mr. He's decision to stop making them. The question is: will Mr. He be willing to start back up, or is Fang going to be willing / able to buy his designs?

Even if the original HeAUDIO association is a no-go, I'd hope that Fang would be willing to design his own stats and try to market them under the HiFiMan name. The problem is, I think this would entail a lot of R&D costs versus partnering with Mr. He again, and it may result in a drastically different product from the original Jade.

Still, one can hope either way a new stat shows up.

Given that I've been offered Jades for the price of shipping (and 1.2B's for free) I really haven't seen the demand for these.  Kinda want one now to give to Sennheiser so they can enjoy the worst electrostatic headphones ever made or the HE90 "clone".

You know, I have trouble believing that people just up and offer you $1k headphones for absolutely nothing. That makes no sense, even if they're broken. Shipping to Iceland alone would make that even more insane. Surely they're at least trying to win your heart and gain access to your baked goods?

The funny thing is, they're actually rarer than the Orpheus now just in terms of how often they come up on the sales threads here. They sell out as soon as they do for prices around the $1k mark. They are in demand, believe it or not. But then so were parachute pants at one time.

However I actually think these sound quite good, though I do agree with you absolutely on how badly these things are built. But that just makes it all the more insane that with simple mods these are some of the most linear stats in existence.

Maybe you can build a clone of these (...a clone of a clone?) just to prove how much they suck?

Oh let me guess, you've been offered Audez'e LCD-3s in the past for free as well, but said no because they suck too.

In fact, all headphones suck so much, the only headphones you'd accept for free would be Stax. rolleyes.gif

When your HE90 or SR-Omega dies on you and nobody is willing to fix then (new HE90 drivers at 7k$ isn't really an option plus they have next to no stock left) and "somebody" makes them as good as new then I'm sure you'd be grateful as well.

Well I'm listening to my own version of a HE90 clone now and guess what, it's far better than the HE90 ever was.  Sure, it is mostly a HE90 but these have new inventions such as pin point imaging and bass....  redface.gif  They are still hampered by the chassis design as the non angled earpads will always cause headstage issues but these are much closer to the HE60.

Still the SR-Omega is the one to clone as it would be unbeatable with proper housings, better driver supports and real leather earpads.

signed. I'd get myself a pair of these if they can make them more reliable

I know that your preference has been to the SR-Omegas rather than the HE90 (which you've dissed quite strongly at times and we all know you don't like.) I acknowledge this is petition is probably a lost cause. Nevertheless, I thank you for blowing your load of diarrhea here, no doubt caused by your irritable bowel syndrome.

You would like a medal? Or maybe a sticker? Or perhaps a dog biscuit?

Chinsettawong/Wachara's DIY STAX clone (actually Frank Cooter's) has a very similar sound to the SR-Omega. In it's current form, it's a little bit rough around the edges. But this is understandable given it's DIY nature.

I've taken some basic measurements, but will be posting much more information on this publicly soon. To Frank/Wachara: I'm so sorry I've held on to these for such a long time without saying anything. Stay tuned folks!

Guys, I know we're just joking around here, but IBS is no laughing matter.  It affects millions throughout the world, and comes with a whole host of terrible side effects, can cause chronic pain and fatigue, and affects everything from job performance to diet to sexual activity.

If Spritzer does indeed have IBS as has been speculated, he needs no medals or accolades - he needs Zelnorm.

Call me irrational but wouldn't be better to try and get Koss to do something with all that ESP experience they have accumulated over the last 40 years as opposed to stuff that is more or less FUBAR?  The 950 may be 20+ years old but the driver technology is still very advanced so just imagine what they can do now.

Koss is still reeling (financially and in an operating sense) from their recent scandal(s).  They also haven't put out new TOTL products for 20 years - better to appeal to a company who's actively in the TOTL market (hifiman) and has put the product out in the last three years (heaudio.)
