Do you need a lot of clicks for your head? I use 2 on each side and it seems stable. But it feels over pressured if you open it up further.

Hearing about the hinge issues with these (and the k167) is really disheartening. Ive been eyeing these for a long time, but never had cash for them, and now it seems that because of their build design, my nonfolding cheapass pro5vs will outlast any pair of these cans out of their box.

Which really sucks cause everything ive read says they sound awesome :/ but it sounds like one day at work will toast them.

I use 2 too, and I have stretched it out using the thick part of the headband and loose it up a lot before I use it

Oh dear. I will be careful.

I wonder how these compare to the AT A900X as far as sound goes.

Also, I've read a couple of reviews that state the left side has a screw that is under pressure. And With regular use it'll snap. Leaving the cup broken. Just read all the previous posts within the last couple of months. Seems these cans still have that one design flaw. So I will be passing these up for the AT A900X.

There is new revision of the K267 with better plastic, I have returned two pairs and the 3rd one is with new plastic.
The information was provided to me from my local distributor for AKG.

And... how is the "new" version compared to the others? Construction wise?

Well so far so good, I have the new revision for a month and a half now and everything is fine.

There is no visual difference between the old and the new revision.

Give me another month or two and I will tell you how they are.

The first pair broke after 2 months of everyday use.

The second pair broke after 4 months with usage between 3-4 hours a week.

The third pair so far is being used for around 30-40 hours a week no signs of breakage so far.

hi Sh3p1, how do you tell the difference between "Rev 1" version that has the crappy plastic and the "Rev 2" version that has new improved plastic hinge? is there a marking on the model number or is it above certain serial manufacturing numbers? is it K267 Mk 2? or any visual indicators whatsoever such as a different color badge or anything? would be much appreciated so i know i am buying the right one! this whole "dodgy plastic batch" has me worried indeed about purchasing these

many thanks,

Blackout

Hi Blackout,

As far as I can tell there is nothing different visual between the new version and the older one.

The only guarantee that the pair I have is with the new plastic is what the official supplier has told me. You can always send the e-mail to the retailer/supplier and ask them.

Still enjoying these :) I think they are underrated.

Nice to hear. If these ever dove in price I'd consider getting some. I still really like my 167 except for build quality. A dj phone shouldn't be this fragile, but they are super comfy and sounds just like I like. Deep bass, and high highs...

Makes me wonder how many does Tiesto himself go through since he wears them on all his shows.

If I would put my name on the cans I would be the first to bang on AKG's doors if something isn't done quite right in the china plant.

So the 267 are all plastic too? And as fragile as the 167?
Mine are in good shape, but the lack of hard case and the fragility of the headband keeps me treating them like a china doll.
