I asked the AKG Sales Rep, and she stated pretty clearly that it was a 3.5mm on both the device end as well as the headphone end.

I think the rep may be mistaken, looks like my Q701 did.

Sure as locking mechanism on mini-xlr plug. Same as on K271S, K702 and I believe on all other AKG phones with detachable cords.

The locking mechanism could be the same, but on the spec sheets it states clearly that its a 1/8 inch dual entry input.

AKG "K267 TI

That would be great news if they ship the pre-orders this month. That would mean a limited amount available to some online retailers.

Hmm

looking again at tiesto's akg video, he does a fair amount of hard head bobbing with them on so they should have sufficient clamp

Hmm

I placed an order a couple of weeks ago when they indicated "in stock" and was informed that they would not be getting them until mid-January. So I got the K167. I'm glad I did. It's superb!

Indeed. Superb. I'll wait for reviews/comparisons with the K167s to see if its worth the $$$ difference (sound wise).

If it truly is a mini XLR, then Im confused as to why both the product page and the person you asked say otherwise.

We don't know yet - I'll ask Front End Audio to look into it.

All we know is that it looks exactly like the mini xlr. It could turn out to be 3.5mm, although I don't believe so.

I'm surprised no one has even thought to mention that maybe that was the first product and the finished product will have 3.5 .
