Selling my k550's today looks like the wait for these will be a bit longer then anticipated, anyone know which retailer in the greater toronto area will be getting them first?

In an effort to keep you updated on the status of your back order we have contacted the manufacturer. The AKG K267 Tiesto Headphones is now expected to be available on 01/21/13. You will be updated as we receive new information and you will be emailed tracking as soon as your order ships. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Will these ever be released!?

Dang, so the lady I spoke to yesterday at AKG was right. I was hoping she didn't have a clue

Dang that sucks. Anyway, I am willing to wait. The construction on the K167 is holding me back along with the lack of a detachable cable.

Does anyone know or is it even mention what the removable cable plug type is? From the pics and size comparo to the K167, looks like a mini xlr.

I think someone mentioned its a regular 3.5mm jack

Bought myself a used Panasonic RP-HT-600-S with Beyer DT250 velours to hold me over. Deal was too good to pass up.

It is - I asked them and it's a 3.5mm on both ends.

Yeah I just read that on the BH Photo Video page too.

Thanks for that, I love removable cables, but hated the mini xlr config on my HDJ 2000's, as its not that simple to find a quality replacement.

For those worried about the ship date being pushed back, we may have a more positive explanation. I've been talking with Front End Audio, and I've been told that the new 'release' date in January may be for new orders, due to the first production run being sold out or something. Here is what I was told:

I left a message with my guys at AKG to see what we are looking at on these. I know that the ship date for new orders has been pushed back until January, but don't believe this will effect pre-orders. I'll let you know as soon as I hear back.

Here's hoping that the December 14th date holds strong, and this delay is only for later orders.

I agree - I already bought a V-MODA Audio cable to use with both my White M50's and my soon-to-be AKG K267's.

Will cables with mic and controls work with K267?

I assume something like a v-moda speakeasy will work, since the mic controls only go up to the mic, and not all the way to the headphone. I'm not sure though.

I think all mic/control talk cables work universal, I bought a beats cable for my TMA-1s when AiAiAi hadn'd offered their's yet and it worked fine. The mic and play pause etc are being sent directly to the source and have nothing to do with the headphones.

I'd be very surprised if AKG went away from their traditional mini-xlr.

And at least based on images available on the net it is mini-xlr, see that little nub on the plug, that's sure mini-xlr giveaway.

.

It could simply be a locking mechanism.

I asked the AKG Sales Rep, and she stated pretty clearly that it was a 3.5mm on both the device end as well as the headphone end.
