No, I'm glad that this is not the case wink_face.gif because those "poor bastards" in Denmark have 160% or even 180% tax on cars!!! no joking.

I cannot find them here in western Austria anywhere. Found out, that there's a shop in Vienna called "Klangfarbe" and they had them already in store but are sold out atm. They should be back in stock end of this week I was told. So if anyone of you lives near Vienna, you can get them b4 Christmas^^...or at least give them a listen!?

I would like to know how they compare sound wise to the K550. Is the sound more detailed on K267, is it richer, etc.

Also comparison between K167, K267, K550 and Ultrasone Pro 900...

Well, first off, the K167 is already better than the K550 sound-wise, based on the impressions I've seen of them. Also, from the one comparison we've gotten, the sound signature is generally the same on the K267 as it is on the K167. The K267's extra cost can be attributed to the fact it has a more robust build quality, a working adjustable-bass switch, and better padding. 

 

If you want to learn more about the K267 before we get any more proper impressions on it, just keep an eye on the K167 thread, as quite a few of the characteristics seem like they will carry over. 

 

Again, this based on the one impression/comparison we have between the K267 and K167.

 

EDIT: New information on K267 pre-orders and cable type.

 

Front End Audio has just told me that the cable is a mini-XLR on the cup end, and a 3.5mm plug on the device-end. Also, due to an overwhelming number of pre-orders, some stores have had their orders pushed back to meet demand. This means that we can have stores getting these as early as today, but as late as Mid-January. (Jan 8th or so)

Because the K167 struck me as more commercial type of thing, whereas the 'reference' K550s look more orientated to audiophiles and experienced users. I don't really know what reference means but a lot of open back HP are reference so...

I don't know, I just, that was my impression.

Also I need someone who actually burned both the HPs in and did a comparison of sound. Looking at the price you would also think that the K550 would sound better (I know that usually price doesn't matter but they are the same brand HP just different model)

 

Do you actually think the sound on the K267 to be the same? I would expect it to be more detailed and to have more noise isolation but I am probably wrong...

 

Also yeah do you think that the Ultrasone Pro 900 are better than the three of these put together, or are they better at all (sound, definition, detail, bass, isolation, comfort wise)?

Dude, my advice is: go to the K167 Appreciation thread and READ. Read it all ; )

Pro 900 are bright, V shaped sound without a ton of depth in sound. Bass is great. Very analytical sounding IMO.

Anyone that is telling you how the K267 may or may not sound is PURE speculation at this point. I don't believe you can judge how it will sound based on how the K167 sounds. Nobody will know until they have a physical headphone on top of their heads. We will know soon enough...till then, CHILL, people...CHILL! popcorn.gif

Hah! If they're mini-XLR, I'll finally have a cable that can be used portably with my Q701... no more Scotch-taping the ten-foot cable for me.
