I went with medium shell as I plan to use them at school as well very_evil_smiley.gif and don't want them to be too visible or obtrusive! ;)

These will be a huge step up in sound and physical ways, cant wait to hear your impressions ;) Yes, in skl they could look like hearing aids and no one wants that, i have not had any funny looks in sixth form so thats all good!

Heirs.

Yeh these would be nice in the gym and also are fine for sleeping with because they are cable down, a big plus for sleeping actually, over the ear is not as good for sleeping, especially as they have memory wire!

Heirs are awesome, up to you if you wait are get lots of awesome lil things ;)

I see that you have also owned  the M-80s. And although I'm using the current M-100s which is basically the same as the M-80s but with a larger soundstage+other improvements, I was wondering which IEMs/CIEMs would you choose in place of it. Er to put it simply, I don't want to purchase an IEM and find that my current M-100s ( or let's just say the M-80s) are more enjoyable than them.

Cosmic ears, at least this model, is high on my list of good value IEM/CIEMs but I'm not limited to just them :). Sorry if this is a little bit of a tangent.

I am not a big fan of the m 80 or on ears in general, i lose seal to easy and although the sound was good with the m-80s i will always prefer IEMs on the go and open backs when i am at home. That being said the v-modas are quite bassy and they will have a lot more than these for example but these fight back with clarity. I think these will offer something else, a different signature, technically i am not sure what is better as they are different prices and designs so is hard to place a finger on. This is AWESOME value though!

Bringing this back to the front page, I was wondering, If I tend to lose a seal with IEM (currently using some V-Moda--don't judge XD I got them at a good price back when I wasn't in Head-Fi) would it be in my best interest to go the IEM route with a better tip (foam, triple? I only have the stock singles), or just a full on CIEM like this? I find my current IEM constantly falling out of my ears no matter how far in I press.

Tip rolling can be very successful and has been for me in the past. However i have IEMs that i have just plain not been able to get a seal with whatever tips i have tried, nothing recently and not often but it does happen. With a CIEM they are crafted to your ear canals so they will fit and for this price it is not really the most expensive either. I think your best bets are a pair of CIEMs or perhaps some custom moulded tips if you really like what you have at the moment.

If not and you want to try the cheaper options, i would grab some Comply as they should sort you.

Thanks for the great review as well as your contributions to the main Cosmic Ears thread!

Do you have any additional insight into what Cosmic Ears offers or may be soon offering that has the detail and clarity that it seemed you liked from the Etys?

Only the BA4 is coming soon which may have even more detail than the Ety. Nothing else knew that i know. I still think this is a good CIEM and is smoother with more bass than the sty.

forgive me for resurrecting this thread... but will the BA1 be the replacement for SEBS

no it is a good question and its not like this is not informative to  people! The SEBS will become the BA yes. If you buy a BA1, in medium shell you will get this with a detachable cable!

good to know.. looks like im leaning more towards the single armature,,, not unless the DD1 proves to be a solid performer...

Look for impressions of the pure. That will be the DD1x a few people already have it. There's impressions.
