I'm jealous! I think when HIFIMAN was developing the Jade 2, they just switched gears and turned it into the HE1000. XD

I read somewhere that Fang likes the HEK better than the current Jade 2 prototype.

So there's still a Jade 2 prototype? Because I saw the first Jade 2 prototype, and it looked like the HE1000 prototype, which is why I thought he scrapped the Jade 2 to turn it into the HE1000.

There at least was one.  No idea what the current plans are.

It`s interesting to me on a very general level( as if there really were a battle);

this thread continues.

Between the Orpheus and the Stax-009.

There is no need for all the other diversions this entire thread entertains.

:rolleyes:

"The RS1i ships in a simple white cardboard box. It resembles a pizza box; not very impressive at all. The box includes an internal foam cutout, intended to preserve the headphone from damage when in storage."

That's not really a thing to hold against it as a headphone worth listening to especially when pizza is involved.:beerchug:

The new Grado GH-1 has been getting very good ink on the Grado Threads, and it is made out of a real Brooklyn maple tree!

Could Sennheiser ever make something like an Orpheus 2 at such a scale as to make a price tag closer to the 009 possible?

I hope so.  An improved Orpheus... I haven't even heard the Orpheus.

I'd say if they wanted to, but it doesn't seem like a business decision they're likely to make.

(There are unconfirmed rumors of a freakishly expensive Orpheus successor, though.)

Oh, but this new version (from last year) of the rumor is even juicier thanks to that $40-50K price tag.

I'll make the thread I linked to more visible:
