Battle Of The Flagships (58 Headphones Compared) - Page 183

Had both pads and run them balanced with ALO Chain Mail(+Norse adapter as the ALO is for my LCD2)on a Phoenix and SE on a WA6.

The LCD2 was just better for my taste.

As i've said before, i consider myself a Grado fan, not a fanboy, the difference being that i have no problem giving other brands credit  when it's due. I find that the HE400, HE500, LCR2, LCR3, HD800, are all great headphones, but in the end we have to make a choice, at least most of us do (hi David)wink.gif, and i chose Grado.

LCD2-2 is my chosen headphone at the moment, still I always love to listen to my friend's PS1000. I don't think I will ever be buying one but...I really appreciate the sound this headphone:)

Actually, I was just going back and forth today between HE-400 and the Grado 325is. Stacker, you are right in that both of them are great headphones. This might not sound right but to my ears the Grado had a wider soundstage for cetain songs. I need to go back and listen more carefully. I am in the process of burning in the HE 400 and have never truly burnt in the Grado. However I find that for a certain volume level, the Grado is louder than the HE-400. I use the Bifrost/Asgard combo. Anybody have ideas why ?

Maybe Grados are more sensitive. Compare their specs.

Same reason why a a truck uses more fuel than a VW Beetle, difference in efficiency.

Jerg

spot on as usual. I asked the same question to Jason at Schiit and he said that the Grados were more efficient.
