I enjoyed that

Me too! Even though it's not my first language! Nice demonstration of language mastering. smily_headphones1.gif

Both money4me247 and wink put me to complete shame. Poetry/English lit were NOT my favorite classes and alas my (poor) use of the English language is evident. That said, I can still appreciate it, almost as much as I appreciate the work that David put into this comparison. :D

Thanks to both of you, and of course, again to David for this masterpiece.

Be glad we did not post our humble ametrical compositions in iambic pentameter.

I, salute thee, kind Sir, for thy consistent, but, alas futile attempts to

Thou dost lead by example, and in this case it is one which is sadly too distant for most here to

However, do not thou desist, as surely as pristine rainwater flows downhill, your

Perhapa, in future years, some of these weeds will be allowed to send fort a seed of germination to

Alas, and alack, it has perchanced to occur that, in my haste to

in these dyslexic digits malfunctioning and forsooth, there appeared in the

text above, the bane of all and sundry, ergo, a

   spelling mistake.

Horror of horrors. Oxford, Funk and Wagnall, Cambridge, Merriam-Webster, Collins, et. al. will be spinning in

their proverbial collective databases and that modern font of

all wisdom - Wikipedia - has reliable informed my abberant self that

my most judicious course of action is to go forth post haste to

remedy this grave abuse of the Royal Majesty's native tongue.

I have found my new language teacher! xD

I guess I am still far off you guys. Though I thought I was good for a not-so-native speaker [and I still think], there is no way I'd ever match that.

OT - David, hope things get better soon. 2013 has been a very bad year for me too and for people around me as well. Must have been that 13! :/

I had a run of many unexpected events in my life, some health, some passings of relatives, and some monetary, but its a very very troubling year and it's deeply effected my ability to devote time to the thread as I had planned to.

I literally haven't listened to headphones in 2 months because of what has happened. I am OK, and all will work out but I haven't been able to be as attentive as I would have liked.  I am sorry for that :(

But I am not gone.  And this thread will continue, but it will take time for me to get back where I was.

On a side note just to comment on something,  I did gain about 60 lbs while doing this thread because my lifestyle changed.  And then when this thread was completed (or the core of it) I hit the gym and became active again.  I don't suggest anyone ever become a stationary headphone listener the way I was. I wish I could have documented the 2 years I worked on the thread. It actually would have made a fun before-after (but backwards)

A similar thing happened to me and i didn't go to the gym for over a year but now im back, I hope you are feeling better.

Question for you = In the review of the #40-K702 you said

The K701 was the first full-size headphone that I purchased after joining Head-Fi in 2007. My initial impression was a sour one. At the  time, iLounge.com reviewed the headphone, stating that it sounded great even when directly out of an iPod headphone output. Therefore, I assumed that the limited amplification I had at the time would suffice."

Does that mean that you have collected all of your audio gears between 2007-2013? - if so then, wow, that is very impressive.

Thanks, yeah I'd say 90% of the gear was acquired between 2007 and 2012.

This winter I've definitely been slacking on the exercise but New Years is here! :)

Happy New Year David & everyone! [and sometimes I really though my dad just signed up to Head-Fi to learn more about his x-hobby when I see "DavidMahler" xD]

I wish my ears weren't so finicky, sure would save some money. And not sure if this is the right place to post this, but many here know more than me, and have much more experience, so here goes: I have 2 mid-fi headphones- HD650 and HE400. I'm trying to find one headphone that does almost everything well. I don't listen to Classical- mostly only Rock and Jazz. And most of my music isn't modern professional recordings- it has various flaws. This is what I love about the HD650- it's so forgiving and pleasing to the ear. But it doesn't have the clarity, detail or speed of the HE400. But the HE400's are quite unforgiving. Trying to decide where to go from here. Reading David's review, it seems like the T1 might fit, though I have no idea of it's sound signature. Or maybe LCD-2, though hoping the weight and clamping wouldn't crush my noggin. Thanks for any input.
