Both these guys, amongst others have been immensely helpful and inspirational to me.  Skylab in particular was one of the very first posters whose reviews I read in full...Contacted him back in 2007 when I joined.  Great guy!

I've been taking gingko biloba, but no effect yet.  I did go for two sessions of acupuncture and the second one made it MUCH worse and also messed up my hand. I've barely been able to type.  I've been using my left hand sparingly lately...

Thanks for your thoughts though.  I have hope that everything will improve.  I'm seeing a "tinnitus specialist" this evening for the first time. I'm convinced in m case that the core of my tinnitus is not related to hearing damage.

By "tinnitus specialist" I assume either a neurologist or Ear, Nose and Throat MD,  Rule out structural issues first>neural issues>metabolic problems.  Osteopaths if herbal remedy is suggested are usually fairly knowledgable in this area.  ENT would be my first choice.  Good luck and get well.

I just want to thank you!

As a new HeadFi member this gives me many things to think about.

I was thinking about selling my T1s for some HiFiMan or Audeze(not sure which model yet though).

Still not convinced though.....

Welcome to Head-Fi!  It's a wonderful place to "be"!  I actually have re-cabled T1s, as well as HiFiMan and Audez'e cans.  You are welcome to PM me with any questions you may have.  Of course, David would be an even better choice--amazing fount of knowledge that he is.  :)

It's funny you should say that, for I tried them with my V200 and found them to be rather clinical.  Don't get me wrong, they are formidable with respect to faithfully reproducing sound; however, they just weren't my cup of tea.

Yeah I'm guilty of a little fanboy-ism  at the mo ha, but I've lived with the orthos and they just don't cut it for me once I lived with the Senns for a while :)

Actually tried them before getting the T1.It was a tough choice between the two but went for the T1 for what I felt was a warmer sound. Now I'm not sure I made the right choice as I sense a little graininess in them.Sometimes I really love them though. I really want to find something that combines the detail of the T1 with the smoothness of my HD650s.

We'll see....

Especially mated to a good cable, like the SAA Endorphin, ALO 8, or Moon Black Dragon.

Takes them to a whole other level!

Nothing wrong with a little fanboy-ism!  It's good to be passionate!  wink.gif  I'm glad that you have found the perfect headphone for your personal tastes.

I think that most would agree that the T1 is a bit warmer than neutral and certainly warmer than the supremely neutral HD800.  Our ears are in agreement, at least.  As far as graininess in the T1,  although there was only a wee bit, re-cabling completely eradicated the problem.

As for combining the detail of the T1 and the smoothness of the HD650, it sounds as though the power-hungry HE-6 would fit the bill nicely.  For almost half the price, the HE-500 might make your ears quite happy, as well.  Although the HE-500 isn't quite as detailed as the HE-6, it is a bit warmer; they are also much easier to drive.  Hope this helps you in your quest.

Thanks for your prompt consideration!

I've heard similar things about the HE-6 before I bought my T1s about a year ago.At that time I had no chance to listen to them(or this time for that matter). My life has to be very portable because I teach English as a second language internationally these days(often in remote areas). This is what got me from speakers and vinyl into headphones and flac. I don't have a great DAC/amp at the moment either(Nuforce Icon HDP) so I'm thinking about getting something better before the new headphones.

I need to get something fairly portable because I will probably go off to Asia again sometime in the fall/winter.My understanding is small/portable is not in line with HE-6 territory.I've also heard that the HE-6 is not so durable either but I've not actually held one in my hands.

Perhaps an amp that would suit both headphones well before I get the new headphones.I would need to sell the T1s to scrap together funds for the HE-6.

Sorry about the lengthy post but as I'm a new member I can't PM as of yet.....

I will say that at the moment I'm listening to my T1 with my wife's cheapo sanyo stereo and It sounds great.

But I am in a really good mood so....
