its a-comin' :) I've been so backed up lately due to a lot of unexpected circumstances.

These are what's coming in the near future:

NEW ADDITIONS
UERM

LCD-2 Rev 2

HE-60

RE400

REVISIONS
Qualia 010 with small headband

Jade (I am going to reassess this headphone in particular) and I am looking into the new Jade coming out

LCD-3 (new drivers installed)

I will be going in this order (relatively)....and there should be some new appearances soon, but I don't want to put any dates in stone yet because the last time I did that I had a lot of things happen and wasn't able to comply to those dates :)

While I agree somewhat, I wouldn't dismiss rapidly moving from headphone to headphone as irrelevant. You're basically cycling through many first impressions before audio memory/adjustment sets in.

But to use the two headphones I own......HD 650, and Alessandro MS-Pros. If I have change from the MS-Pros to the HD-650s, the 650's seem dull and boring....but If i listen to them for a few days they sound amazing, if I am listening to the HD-650s and switch to the MS-Pros they seems harsh and too bright, If you get where Im going here.........I love them both for different reasons, but switching from headphone to headphone is a not going to do you any favours.

This is such an important point. The changing of contrasting sound sigs is always gonna give stark results and leave impressions both very positive or very negative. A/bing should only be done with headphones that have either been "improved" or are of a similar character imo. This is why people give negative impressions of e.g LCD2 or HD800. Because they don't give themselves time to adjust and become accustomed to the sound signature. Unless it really is a black and white case of preference towards dark or bright..

David, do you ever go to Head-Fi headphone meets? You might have mentioned it in one of your reviews but I forgot.

the new drivers both measure and sound brighter than my old ones, noticeably so, and I think revising the review to comment on both will be helpful

Funny, didn't buy the lcd3 because it was not bright enough

no doubt. honestly, i can not more to follow all of these revisions

I was under the impression that it's not a revision but rather a warranty replacement of the old drivers that turned out to also have some variation in the FR.

This is correct! It's not a revision, but there may be a fairly significant margin of difference in drivers.  I like both variations, but the new one sounds slightly better my ears.  However, it's still a dark headphone in my opinion.  I don't want to allude to the idea that what was once a dark headphone is suddenly bright central:)

Ok, is not a revision but sound different...

all the headphones he tried (except the hd800 which were driven with a bryston amp) are driven from a peachtree hybrid amp (nova or decco?) with the tube buffer on

they are not SPL matched as ive noticed some are louder then others when set at one volume position, it seems like all 30 ish headphones are connected to the amp but im not quite how that works out power wise as the amp easily drove the senns to ear-splitting levels

i found that the tube added quite a bit of warmth to the headphones, especially compared to solid state amps, and notably with the grados

last thing- since the open headphones are situated in the middle of the shop, i found the listening to the headphones a bit dissapointing as it is usually noisy in the store, so you may want to try listening to the headpones at low traffic times- maybe in the morning

Thanks for taking care of that, was not familiar with the equipment.

I hear you. I can tell preferences of headphones changed depending on how long and frequently you would use them. I did note the HD700s you could use for hours on end, whereas I was afraid with the RS1 and 325iS in particular that fatiguing may set in after an hour, the PS500 were slightly less fatiguing than those, but still quite  possible.

Thanks! Your initial comparison and suggestions have helped me narrow my choices down quite a bit. I listened to the HE400 and HE500 as well which I will add to this "rookie" review in a minute.
