3rd Annual Austin, Texas Spring Meet - March 2nd, 2013 - Page 5

I'll be able to bring Mr Speakers Mad Dogs, Koss ESP-950's, and the HE-6 in addition to the Liquid Glass (I'm pretty sure it'll be finished by then).

I will have the LCD-2 Rev.1   I can bring the stock ADZ-5 cables in addition to Toxic Cables' Silver Poison.

I would love to hear someone else's LCD-3, though!

If anyone going has a D7100, please bring it to the meet! I am now very curious to hear what they sound like.

Was interested in Denon's new line when it came out but didn't want to drop ~$500+ on headphones I'd never heard. Ended up waiting due to the somewhat lackluster reviews. The curiosity stayed with me though; I finally picked up a pair of D600s last week on the FS board for a significantly discounted price, and I've been pleasantly surprised to find that I quite like them for what they are.

I do recall Denon said something silly like the D600s were aiming for a neutral sound, which is clearly not the case. However, they are quite enjoyable for being as colored as they are. Honestly listening to these at work on lower volumes with that bump in the lower end really gives me a happy dance-y feeling with modern hip hop, kpop and rock, and bright recordings don't cause fatigue at all. They also sound surprisingly good paired with the PA2V2, which is great since I love Gary's work and haven't had an excuse to use it for quite some time.

If the D7100 sounds like a better D600, I would actually be interested in picking one up sometime in future.

I just purchased some LCD-2 rev2s tonight, and am now seeking for an amp to complete the rig.  But they'll definitely be in attendance in some rig or another.  I'm also trying to convince fellow Dallasite and now proud owner of my former HE-500 rig, [and all-around cool guy] bl42ed0, to come down also and bring his new rig.  So we'll see on that one.

Maxvla - RE: venue,  assuming you're still looking into this, here's a list of potential sites in Austin from Yelp.  Some nice leads there from the looks of it..   http://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=venues+%26+event+spaces&find_loc=Austin%2C+TX&ns=1#cflt=venues&find_desc=

Best,

If anyone can call around and get info on some of these places that'd really help me out. I officially have 2 jobs right now and my day off every now and then right now is spent researching and trying to audition potential speakers for tax season. :D

Barring any work complications, I should be coming with dmcs414 with his old/my new HE-500 setup!

I'm not really looking into it at all. Someone local needs to do the ground work. I just posted a few ideas.

I can start looking into it, been pretty busy with wedding planning recently, but I will try and get on this soon.

I'm in and I'll help look into some venue leads.

I am a few days away from finishing my Millett MOSFET-MAX amp with integrated grubDAC.  I'll bring it along with my HiFiMan HE-400s.  I'll try to bring along an iPod/iPhone LOD cable so folks can try out the setup with their own playlists.

...BHSE? Yes please.

I'm about ready to make the March 2nd date official as no one has suggested anything different and some jobs require a lot if lead time.

I don't think anyone's had conflict with March 2nd, so let's do it. Just need to get a place. tongue.gif

Justin, any chance of a GS-X accompanying you? Would love to duel with my Bryston. Would need a 4 pin to dual 3 pin converter cable if you happen to have one (or a HD800 dual 3 pin cable) since GS-X looks to only use dual 3 pin.
