I can bring JVC HA-S500s, a ZO2.3 amp, and Phillips Cityscape uptowns if anybody's interested. smily_headphones1.gif Maybe even the Project - H DAC/amp if I get it by then. wink.gif
Head-fi meets are typically pretty safe. Only time I've ever heard of anything being taken was some of Ray Samuel's portable amps at one of the Canjams years ago during a power outage (no lights).

Btw, everyone, the tables will have a cloth covering them, so no need to bring any towels/cloths to lay headphones/gear on.

It's not so much stealing, just more of how people will treat it... I shouldn't be worried though, as most of you are adults or college kids, but I'm in 8th, so I know how many kids treat their stuff like junk .frown.gif

Some kids never grow up, though.  It's nice to to see someone of your generation who thinks like you do!  biggrin.gif

I've always been over the top with taking care of all types of gear. I have thirty-year-old camera equipment that looks brand new despite being hauled around on many trips.  Even my tripods look brand new.

I like to say, "There's no such thing as an accident - only negligence and poor planning."

OK, that's it, I'm bringing my lasso and a pair of night vision goggles under my cowboy hat!

I know what I'm in for with these. I've considered them for a very long time.

Okay, I'll definitely be bringing the LG (Regardless of whether or not Alex is able to attend); it will probably be nice to have two of them there to give more people the chance to spend more time with it than if there were just one.  I'll also try to bring the Taboo.

As for cans, there's no real reason to not to bring all of them as I'll probably be able to fit all of them plus the tubes into one large suitcase.  (except for the ESP-950 which comes with it's own carrying case that also holds the amp)

The one thing that's holding me up is what to do about sources.  I could bring the Denon, PS1, and my Bifrost (non-usb) and be able to run all three rigs (LG, Taboo, and ESP-950), but it's going to start to be difficult to pack it all.  If anyone wants to volunteer a usb DAC or another CD player or something like that, it might make my trip a little easier.

I'm completely over the top as well. I am glad you are as well, since you'll be handling my Piano Forte's tongue.gif

Seriously though. Those Fostex are made of wood, and my IEM strain reliefs are questionable. If anyone is not taking epic care of my gear I will kick your ass off my table so fast you won't know what hit ya. I don't expect any problems with this crowd.

Complete newbie here but so glad to have a chance to attend a local meet!  Will be there though without gear (yet!).

Would love being able to audition Senn HD800 and a Stax system (lo to hi, never heard electrostats before) and if anyone could demo a Realiser A8, that would be fantastic!

Anyway can't wait for Spring!

We've had a lot of Texas faces hit the forum lately. Can never have enough!

Welcome to Head-fi, sorry about your wallet (especially after this meet).

Hey everyone, I've been a inactive head-fi'er for a while but I live in Austin and would love to come. Can bring WA2 Woo Audio and Beyer T1. Also have PS Audio DL III, and Turntable setup if thats of interest.

I'd just bring the DL III and some records along with your T1 and WA2.

I'm bringing my TT as it's the only source I have and last year Avenson brought one as well. While fun they do take up a lot of space. :D

How does this usually work at meets? This is my first. If people are bringing their own music at their own bit rates, do you just carry your laptop around and plug into DACs? Or you listen to other people's music? Hows this work? Of course my laptop will be there and people can listen to my music, but I'd like to carry mine around and listen to my own music on other systems.

Most tend to bring CDs or a transport to run into their DACs. Laptops will work to an extent but not if DACs require drivers. I'd suggest a hard drive. Easy to listen from that on someone else's laptop.

I'll just be bringing 70 or so records (hopefully in a nice 'bin' by then) people can flip through and out on as they please though I think I'll want to oversee cueing each one up. I won't be doing a ton of 'listening' anyway.

Probably one of these...
