Making a profit is called flipping which is not allowed at all, besides being frowned upon. Just so you know.

yeah, and most iem's depreciate in value, and i see this as standard..well..except for the ones that don't, like my UE 700's, The TF 10's, or IE80's, which have actually retained, or their value risen in the past year or so...

Joker didn't rate them the highest of all the Monster IEM's for no reason. They have great articulation and detail/Instrument separation, and the bass is strong, but not as intruding as you'd think. My fiance is the one who uses them, because fit is an issue with me. They are micro drivers, and very tiny. So they might fit loosely with big ear canals like mine, but I wouldn't trade them or sell them. I love holding them, because they feel so regal in your fingers, and the trumpet valves are fun to play with, and they sound world class, so at $98.00, they are a  STEAL!

these things are the best looking iem's i have ever seen,no doubt about it

Hello head-fiers,

Do you think XBA-30 would benefit from burn-in, as it would tame the sparkly treble?

No it doesn't.

My xba3 does sound better after a few minutes of play time. I say they need to warm up each and every time to sound right. The metallic treble is more apparent from a cold start. Take note that I'm in Melbourne where it's cold most of the time. BA's are known to under perform in cold temperatures.

I didnt say it's freezing cold all the time... But it is definitely colder than most countries. Even colder than where you are.

I really think you will really love the sparkly treble* or really hate it. After getting used to the sound signature so much it is so hard to move on lol

I've been looking for an upgrade but it is so hard with so many options out there, still reading and trying to understand the reviews here...

I invested in ue900s a while back and was quite disappointed because they seem to have a 'veil' sound and the trebles just aren't there!

I am thinking either the XBA H3 or the westone 3, perhaps someone owning all of these can voice their opinion!

Surely its not cold enough to affect the sound. I haven't noticed it with any of my BAs even in winter which in some cases gets close to zero on winters mornings.

I also never noticed significant improvements to burning in on any of my BAs other than really getting used to the sound signature.

BA's don't need burn in. Not the same type of technology as dynamics. But I will agree with Marco about the BA being affected by cold weather. My UE 700's were all over the place sonically when i was using them in 25 degree weather (not celsius)  couple weeks ago. So cold can affect it, but as far as the metallic/hot treble from the XBA-30's, the ONLY way to get rid of that is a foam mod or to put on silicone tips. That pretty much takes care of the metallic treble sound.

stay away fro h3, xba 3 will be better untill u want bass to drown ur mids

at least listen before u buy as reports are pretty  conflicting on h series and i can easily see these going to h10,h20,h30 just like xba i,2,3 went to 10,20,30

It doesn't happen to all BA's! I have a few of them and only my xba3 sounds different upon cold start. It may be an isolated case but I'm just sharing my experience.

You got me curious now. Do you reckon I could damage the XBA3 by putting it in the fridge?
