First of all, just to be clear, I was joking about the cable. Not a wonderful cable. Drives me a bit nuts. The term diabolical has been bandied about lol.

As far as the SQ is concerned, dsnuts figures that the mh1c provides up to 80% of the SQ of the xba3, and I agree with that assessment. They have similar sound signatures, but I find that the xba3's sound to have better imaging, more presence and transparency, and to be generally more engaging. Basically, the mh1c sounds awesome, but the xba3 sounds awesomer :)

yeah, the mh1 is like the "average" version of the xba-3. I have been listening to them for a while, and am close to giving them up. They are superior in every way, but i may just be too sensitive to the shrill highs which i dont remember the tf10 having... could be selective memory 

but yet again i have fallen with the belief that i am getting a proper seal just because they sit securely with that suction feeling. That tip mod helps make sure they sit right because the barrel is a bit smaller than average phones, had some other tips stay in my ears once when pulling the sonys out. I think its better to stick with the stock tips, you can see they are way more secure and sealing.

I have to re-evaluate them, whether i keep them i dont know but stock tips fit best.

The thing that separates these from my other iem's is that how I get totally immersed in the sound. I guess that's the xba3's soundstage (or "out of the head stage" lol). Anyway, it rocks.

I'm not a basshead. But I like my subbass.

It's not that I can't hear or feel it on the xba-3. It's just I want to hear/feel it without efffort from my ears.

So I had to do this in order to be satisfied with the sound.

As you see, everything is flat except for the 31hz band.

It reminds me of the re262. Except with that I had to up that same spot by almost 25db.

With that said. Dsnuts and Currawong. If those jvc's are as great as the xba-3 but with more subbass. Count me in when the price drops.

P.S. I only had to use that eq setting when listening to songs that like subbass. Everything else was perfect.

So. with the eq on. It just means ANY song can come on at any time and I'll enjoy it.

And yes. The xba-3 was playing with my emotions. Every random song on shuffle put me in a different mood because the sound morphed according to the songs being played.

Cool. I'll have to try that boost to see how I like it. I've been using my phone a lot lately for streaming music, and there isn't any way to EQ when doing this as far as I am aware (which is one of the reasons I have been so happy with the xba3's and s500's - because I don't feel the need to EQ them). But if I wanted to do some EQ'ing while streaming mucic, I suppose I would need a DAC of some sort. Is that correct? (Sorry, I know it's probably a dumb question in advance lol!)

my android phone is rooted so I am able to have an equalizer that reaches that low.

most (if not all) of the ones from the play store only go down to 60hz.

If you're willing to go through the trouble of figuring out how to do that (Or know someone who can), it's worth it.

You should have no problem finding an equalizer that does that on a desktop/laptop though.

I am running the PowerAmp app that has a good EQ. But, when streaming radio through various other apps (such as SomaFM), I don't think there is a way to EQ that. Or is there?

mine does. integrates with all audio I play. It's called Awesome Beats. but again. I don't think it's available unless the phone is rooted.
