Again, it's quite an improvement over the TF10. If there's ever a sale and it goes as low as say $200, it will be worth having, but not at $400. The packaging is outstanding though. That's pretty much all I will say about them. I enjoy the W4 way more than the UE 900.

Good to know (if I ever decide to go really crazy on iem's lol!). Anyway, your avatar prompted me to throw on some Kind Of Blue on the xba3's. Sweet smile.gif  Prompted me to try the fxd70's with the album as well. Holy detail batman! Very cool.

Lol Yeah I did not know tips could make so much difference to the sound sig lol

Getting use to these comply foams though ! Another good thing about these foam ones is that it seems to be cleaner, well for me at least.

No traces of earpoo whatsoever, but when there is you could easily clean it esp on the inside because the hole is so big compared to the original sony ones lol

Tried the XBA-3 tonight with my DACmini as a source & amp and the result was much better. The bass was really something. Nicely textured and impact full. I think it's the mid that I need to get use to. It's more laid back but it benefit for the presentation. The soundstage is wide and instruments are easily recognized.

Listen to Adele 21 album and her voice was very good and I didn't feel the high we're missing. Maybe it was the Clip+ but I know others have reported good result.

So far I'm somewhat on the fence. I will used them at work tomorrow and see how they pair with my DACport.

I still have to try them with my S3 > UD100 > PB1 .

What type of Complys are you using with your XBA3? T/Ts/Tx 200? Besides Complys, are there other decent tips with wide bores that work well with the XBA3?

I got the T200s. The shop here only had T and TX200 but TX was $35.00 so i just got the T @ $25. Didnt really think I needed the wax guard anyway haha

I might next time though. This is my first time getting foam tips so I just thought I'd get the T to try it out.

I read there is also the Shure Olives, seems quite popular in the other thread but not sure if its compatible with xba3.

Forget about wider bore tips; I do all my portable listening with my IPod Classic, and I usually steer clear of the EQ presets, but I tried the Treble BOoster preset with my Xba3 and was blown away. Instantly, it gains all the clarity and detail that I thought it was missing - with none of the sibililance or distortion that usually accompanies IPod eq presets. I then did a/b comparisons with my Etymotics Hf5 and was stunned - with the treble boost, the Xba equals, even bests, the Etys in top end clarity and detail retrieval. IN comparison, the Etys sounded COLD and tinny and completely devoid of a soundstage. the Sonys are warmer and more musical. It is incredible.

Picked up a XBA3 yesterday from FS; its really a good deal at the FS price! About Comply tips, has anyone tried Ts 200 with the XBA3? Or are the T200 tips still the ones to go for?

Those won't fit.

The Ts400 are by far the best comply tips I've used, and they fit the XBA-3 perfectly.

Hmm I got the T (200) series as the website actually says its compatible with xba 3 lol so I'm pretty sure T200 TS200 and TX200 all fit.

Are TS400 smaller? I wonder how they differ because the T200 I have is abit too big so everytime i put them in i have to kind of squeeze them abit

The seller told me its usually medium one size fit all but I might have to try find the small ones ...

The T400 is bigger than the T200.

Yeah. I'm in the same boat. I used the XBA-3 at work today and connected from my DACport feeding all Flac was a great experience. If only the cable was a normal Y and not a J type. I'm usually ok with J type cable but on the Sony the left cable is way too short and the intersection block alway grab my collar. Just very annoying. But they sound good biggrin.gif.
