$35 is more realistic, I was thinking they were down to $5 now though, based on the LCD-2 SRP.

+1 to the rest. I also like my Denon table, but I don't know a whole ton about vinyl beyond that table and the Technics DD that I have (so for all I know they're both awful, lol).

 

From what I've read, it's a pretty good combo. Headphonebar (canada) even offers them together as a bundle for reduced price as they find that combo quite good. 

Definitely. I went in the store to try them out many, many times, and always walked out satisfied. Pretty much on par with my own LCD-2 rig, although the Mjolnir just takes the cake for the best LCD-2 rig I've heard (can also be demoed there). Travis is a pleasure to deal with as well!

Yea those guys are awesome. They always write cool stuff on the receipts as well. I've talked to them couple of times online and though the phone, always willing to help and best of all, they actually are full on audiophile and understand stuff rather than just sell stuff. I wish there was a decent store like that here around my area. Although I've talked to Audeze recently and they said that CanadaComputers should start stocking them in a few weeks at the Mississauga location...don't know if they'll do it through all provinces though. 

Actually, it's really only one guy, the store owner, who runs everything. The store is immaculate, a really good environment for auditioning stuff. Always seems to be people around when I visit though, so it seems the headphone fever is alive and well in Vancouver. Travis was also the one who hosted the Vancouver meet last month.

 

No wonder my emails take some time getting replied to....it's one guy! That's quite impressive for one man. I always assumed there were bunch of people there. I always get the same person on the phone too every time, it al makes sense. Although he always ships promptly. I've been following that site for over a year now and so much has changed since then, so many more great products now. It's good to know that enthusiasm is high over there. Wish it was that good here at my university.

Try a he500 with a darkvoice 337.with the right tubes...i have this combo since recently and it blows u out of ur socks with volume level knob on 22:00! 337 is sister of lf339..only a bit cheaper.

It's good. I am owning all of above things you mentioned. Though the LCD-2s lack the body in their sound a little

LCD-2 or HE-500 with an inexpensive SS amp (you don't want tubes to soften their sound).  Don't listen to anyone who tells you to sacrifice headphone quality and invest it towards an amp, or even worse, a dac.  The headphone signature is generally preserved as long as there is some amplification, and non-headphone components have relatively subtle effects on sound (<5% imo).  Honestly the HE-500 out my ipod sounded worlds better than HD600, D7000, RS-1, Edition 8 out full-sized tube or ss amps.

No to be unrespectfull here..but ru serious? I have a he500 myself and tried it directly from my hm602(one of the best dap's around) and with at least 10 amps..i agree..with some amps sound was even worse (with the darkvoice 3322 or the normally excellent matrix mstage for instance).. My hm602 was better in general..But with the 337 the sound was transformed! And trust me..it isnt 5% difference..and no its not placebo effect..everyone ( and i mean EVERYONE!) says that the sound coming from my wonderfull he500 is many times better now then being connected directly to my hifiman hm602 or cowon d2 or ipod touch 16gb or ipad 3.(owe them all) .and funny thing is most of them say its ludacris to buy an tube amp (and almost all of them find my 337 super ugly and old fashioned looking by the way ) specifically for ur headphone before listening!!! .so they were negatively biassed towards the sound of my amped he500..but oh my god..their faces when they start to listen to flac high quality files..as if they never ever heared music before! I believe if u connect the right ( dont read that as expensive!) GOOD QUALITY amp..it will give the perfect synergy to make the he500 shine even more then directly from any dap..no matter how expensive it was. I tried many amps before i by accident stumbled upon my wonderful 337 and i wont be selling him for a long time to come.
May i ask something? Do u believe that good cabling (headphone, rca, and powercable) and or vibration absorbing can help to improve sound?

Dont get my wrong here..i respect anyones opinion..as we are here for the same hobby..but am just curious where ur opinion is based upon.
